I wanted a Freddy too and had the same dilemma as the OP. Luckily Mikey1974 from another forum posted some comparison pics of his Freddies in a review of the SDCC exclusive. FvJ Freddy seemed easily the coolest to me.

I think the Dream Warriors seems like a really good overall Freddy. Even though its not the "Classic" or first release it definitely does the job. If I didn't have the original (and needed more than one Freddy) I definitely would have picked him up.
