For the heck of it I read a synopsis of the entire plot, complete with spoilers about all the gore, etc. It honestly sounds like something a bunch of 8 year olds would have thought up when trying to gross each other out at a slumber party. With a dash of marijuana humor added to the mix.

While reading the synopsis I actually felt brain cells wither and die.

Mr. Roth...

Meh... I personally like Roth. I like Cabin Fever and Hostel does not get enough credit IMO. I love how the first 30 min plays like an 80 frat house comedy and then crap hits the fan. I thought it had a great feeling of dread and isolation. Hostel 2 was about all you could do with that story and did what it could but was not nearly as good as the first. However people get up in arms about the blood and gore in his films but they realy are not that bloody.

Green Inferno was overall just bad. What worked in Cabin Fever and Hostel was the fact they were funny and thus made us like mostof the characters. This film had one character that was a decent Human and the rest were idiots... I know that was what he was going for. But it does not make for good tentsion when you are happy to see them get it.

Cabin Fever - 7.5 out of 10
Hostel - 9 out of 10
Hostel 2 - 6 out of 10
Green Inferno - 4 out of 10

if you like italian cannibal movies from the 70s & 80s it's GREAT. oddly, the classics are still more repulsive imo. not sure why though.

almost every college kid in the movie is unlikeable, but i think that's the point.

it's fun, well produced, mindless garbage. my favorite :)

legit movie rating ** out of *****

cannibal movie rating **** out of *****

i think the subject matter by default excludes the vast majority of moviegoers.

Agreed. Hostel I think is a great horror film and the main character (I always think of him as Joey from Friends) really makes it work, both writing and acting. Hostel II was so-so and basically demonstrated that there was no more life in the idea, but the first is great. For all the accusations of torture porn or whatever, it's pretty tame.

I went and watched it since I really like Cabin Fever. IMO it was terrible, just outright terrible. It wasn't even campy horror good. Save the $5.

Spoiler Spoiler:

wtf :lol:lol
