Re: Elder Scrolls V

It usually only works if they borrow ideas from the game but make their own movie.

You didn't like the fiery crap hole but you like the poop color world of Fallout 3?

You weren't comparing anything, I was comparing your interesting opinion on not liking all the red of oblivion but you didn't say one thing about how BORING looking Fallout 3 was. (BTW I love Fallout 3)

l liked the difference. l remember in 06 when l first played Oblivion IV, and l came out of the cave and saw the lush scenery. that is what l loved about the game. Fallout 3 was a nice change though, destruction instead of trees and hills.

Re: Elder Scrolls V

I didn't particularly enjoy being taken away from the lush greenery of Cyrodil and dumped into a fiery crap hole.

Well, I think that had to be the idea... Oblivion basically is a sort of hell, so it would be a bit weird if it was this beautiful place.
I agree though, that when you further advance in the game, the closing of Oblivion gates became a little bit repetitive and basically lots of them had sort of the same lay-out.
However there has to be mentioned that you don't need to close each and every Oblivion Gate... It was optional I think...

Anyway, I hope that the new game takes us to new places. I pretty much explored all of Cyrodil and I hope we'll be able to travel to some of the other lands! :) :rock

Re: Elder Scrolls V

Oh my God, that seriously got me goosebumps!!! The vibe set was just epic! Especially because of the music!!! :rock :rock :rock
It's gonna be a long year, but I'll be there on the first day!! If the game manages to contain at least half of the epic premise set in that teaser than I'll be very, very happy!! Can't wait to once again get lost in the empire of Tamriel!!! :bow :bow :bow

Re: Elder Scrolls V

Bethesda just confirmed (on twitter) that Elder Scrolls V will use a completely new engine.

Maybe ID tech? who knows? :D

Re: Elder Scrolls V

Elder Scrolls > Fallout 3

It's about time. Hopefully they'll fix Oblivion's issue of the enemies leveling up with you.

Gah yea they either need to go to the Morrowind system or use what they did with Fallout. Which I didn't necessarily like as much BUT it was better than Oblivion system.

Re: Elder Scrolls V

I just hope they include the map editor again. Fun times to be had with it

But I loved being a master archer and still having to put a dozen or more (expensive) arrows into a bear or minor demon just to fell it.

I am very excited for this game but they need to improve a number of things. The lack of children, which was just creepy, and sparse populations in the cities bothered me in particular. I felt a market district should be bustling, like in recent Zelda games.

Re: Elder Scrolls V

Honestly I don't care about the engine. I was too busy paying attention to the story and quests. I spent around 100 hours in Oblivion and not once during or after did I say "Man this game needs a new engine.".

The Gamebryo engine was more of a problem in Fallout 3 and its sequels. The character models looked ugly, animation was stilted, and overall the engine was prone to bugs and glitches.

:exactly:

I don't think one anyone was complaining when they were playing. I was blown away when I was playing it but it is definitely outdated now.
