I've been having trouble concentrating on work lately. I think it's because my "Hobby" is starting to take over. I'd like to see the chaos some of you guys live/work in so I don't feel so bad! Please post your Mess (I mean living collections here!)

I work from home, and as anyone in my position knows, lack of motivation is one of the hardest things to overcome.

I can lay in bed an extra hour if I like, stop for Tea & biscuits whenever I feel like it... all seems great, but then 5.30pm rolls round and no works been done...:sick

I had a look round my (tiny) office for a source of my distraction and had to concede that the 70+ 1:6 scale figures laying on my desk were probably to blame!

Time for a tidy up!

Oh the Humanity! Where do they all come from?

A couple of hours and a good squirt of Mr Sheen later and things are a bit more manageable.

The "Non-Star Wars" Shelf (All to be re-located elsewhere in the house to make room for Clone Wars figures)
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Forum%20stuff/?action=view&current=Misc.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Forum%20stuff/Misc.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The "OT Star Wars" Shelf...Hmm full already - need more shelves! (My Office is so small I can't get a single shot of the shelf - I'm up against the back wall! So excuse the following photoshop lash up!)
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Forum%20stuff/?action=view&current=OTShelf1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Forum%20stuff/OTShelf1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And Finally the "Prequel Area"

Jabba and his throne are upstairs with a dozen or so other figures - Must buy some Detlofs!

I kept a ton fo stuff here in my office until last Friday. I have since found that my brain doesn't feel so cluttered since my office isn't cluttered anymore.

LOL - These are just the "Opened" ones. There are three loft spaces in my house, there all full of boxes. :monkey3

Believe me, I have mess.

lol that is cluttered! i've been reorganizing recently myself. I'll post pics when I get home tonight.

Man, you guys don't want to see the tip of the room all my stuff is kept in lol

Lol great thread Darth. Its a crazy hobby were in.. it can really overwhelm if we let it...
Great collection btw!

You've actually gone to far... Sell some stuff and regain you're ability to realise you can live without some of the figures being released... I did that and now I'm a much more focused and happy collector... Also Selling some figure is a good way to reduce Debt and stress from collecting...

I got to a point were I was simply getting a new figure, posing it and then putting it on a shelf and not really giving it the time of day. Bad spot to be in imo.

I recently removed all of the prequel figures and some of the more dodgy Hasbro figures that I had in my display cases in my office, and I think it makes the whole place look quite a bit better. It really helps you appreciate individual pieces if they aren't all jammed in somewhere competing for your attention. You can always rotate things in and out of your display to keep things fresh.

LOL! Thanks for the concern.

That's why I stopped collecting the Hasbro 4" figures a couple of years ago and started on 1:6.

There were just so many I had nowhere to put them, once I realised I was close to 800 figures and most of them where in boxes, never even looked at, I thought it time to quit.

In comparison 30 - 40 1:6ers a year doesn't seem so bad!

I always set myself a budget at the start of the year and try to stick to it (sort of...) I cancel 3 or 4 orders to every 1 I accept.

But your right, I need help.

Still, it keeps me happy.

here's my office/collection room cleanup in progress.

My collection used to be all scattered. I probably only am displaying about 1/5 of my Hasbro 12"ers, just in the upper corner there you can see the Phantom Menace stuff. Unlike tequila, I plan on using my top shelf for the worst stuff...lol. I will probably go through my AOTC Hasbro stuff tonight or tomorrow.

converting these shelves into my customizing/diorama building workspace too, in the second pic. Also use these shelves to hold my vinyl and CD collection.

Lurtz is lonely as being my only PF. I will one day add Aragorn to the same shelf. Looking to pay $200 shipped if anyone has one. :naughty

Alright, let me ask you this, then:

What is the single greatest SW piece that Sideshow has released?
