Detolf Glass Shelf Bumpers

I found the sound of glass bumping against glass while moving things around in my Detolfs to be annoying and a little scary. To fix the problem I purchased a length of aquarium air hose, cut 3/4" pieces, split it on one side, and put a section on each shelf corner...no more bumping of glass against glass! Maybe someone's thought of this already; maybe it doesn't bother other people; just wanted to put it out there.

What inside diameter did you go for?

I think the air hose is a standard diameter...no worries.

Enjoy and be careful with the glass panels. I was putting together four Detolfs and got sloppy with a panel and it exploded in my hands; don't let them bow too much.

Brilliant. I'll have to do this. I have one Detolf in particular that rattles every time I walk past it.

I've used this as well. One refinement to the suggestion...split the side of the hose first, then cut the lengths you want. It's a little less work and less dangerous. At least that's what I found.
