Another strong episode this week, strong enough that it managed to stand on it's own without island flashbacks. The show is really hitting it's stride now.

I thought last night's episode was pretty good. It seemed like more of a "set up" episode for the season finale as not much happened - with the exception of Walter being rescued. Malcolm's "undertaking" weapon seems a little over the top. Sounds like it is something to wipe out the Glades. Felicity looked great in the casino scenes! Bummed there were no island flashbacks though.

Same, it seemed the pre island flashbacks got the island flashbacks time alottment. :lol

It was very nice seeing Oliver return to form and do some target practice on the casino thugs. :yess:

Season finale was awesome, but how did Oliver get away? I missed the first 10 minutes. :monkey2

Agreed! The finale was really well done. Resolved most of the storylines in a nice way. There were some cheesy parts - mainly with Thea and Roy. Yikes some of their dialog was cringe worthy. :lol

I have been going on about how boring Tommy's character is, so I thought they gave him a nice send off by sacrificing himself to save Laurel.

Oliver escaped by climbing up the chains he was shackled to and un looping them and falling to the floor. He then knocked out two guards and Diggle arrived just in time to take out the third guard. Diggle found Oliver by a tracking device in his boot.

Yes, the finale was great. The first half of this series was mediocre imo, and relied on the island flashbacks as a crutch, but they really brought their A game in the second half and it just got stronger every week. My only criticism of this episode, don't ever let the actress playing Felicity ever doing any sort of crying scene ever again... ever.

Spoiler Spoiler:

Great episode. CW sure does know how to do the background music. It's as good as Smallville if not better

Thanks! I got home a little late and when I turned it on and saw him sitting in his house, I was like WTF? that didn't take long to get away. :lol

Lol, knocked them out? He snapped their necks.

Yep. Them making out in the middle of a crisis when another earthquake could have easily killed those people in the bus. Too cheesy.

But overall, I really enjoyed the season finale. I loved the psychology between Oliver and the Dark Archer, with GA doubting himself from their previous one on one confrontations. The last few episodes have been great. I can't wait for the next season!

Not seen the finale yet, do we get to see who Fyer's boss is?

...the 2nd last episode has been the best for me so far, tying things up yet setting more crucial questions. Merlyn's reaction to finding out Green Arrow is Oliver Queen has left me really puzzled, not just suprised but also slightly horrified that it was Oliver.

Malcolm isn't a thug, he just believes in what he was doing. He has known Oliver his whole life and probably very unhappy that Oliver has become involved. Remember, Oliver was a late add to the boat trip, for all we know Malcolm may have felt alot of genuine relief when Oliver "came back from the dead".

Am I only one that is having a hard time enjoying a full episode?? I enjoy parts of all them but find myself disinterested in other parts of the same episode. It sounds crazy and is hard for me to explain.

You mean you are disinterested in the poorly written sister falling for thug who now only wants to do good sub-plot?

I don't think you're alone in that, at all.

Is Malcolm Merlyn dead? He seamed to die but Oliver told Tommy he didn't kill him...... could be just comforting a dieing friend.

Just got around to watching the last four episodes. What a fantastic finale, loved every bit of it.

After such a great first season I'm very excited for the second. Never expected this show to become part of my top five favorites.

Looks like I need to get caught up!! Second season is shaping up quite nicely.

From Spencer Perry at Superherohype.com:

With production having just begun on the second season of The CW's Arrow, we can expect plenty of casting announcements for the series going into the future. The first one comes today from The Hollywood Reporter that Firefly alum Summer Glau has landed a major role in the new season. Glau will take on the role of Isabel Rochev, who is described as "enigmatically beautiful" and "dangerous." Her character will work for Stellmoor International, which is looking to buy out Oliver Queen's family company Queen Consolidated. She'll make her debut in the Season 2 premiere.

Rochev first appeared in the Green Arrow comic books just three years ago where her character rose to the top of Queen Industries and sought to bring it back to its former glory, seeing herself as the rightful heir. It would appear this intense rivalry between the two of them will carry over into the television series.

Star Stephen Amell has spoken about the upcoming season and teased that it will feature "a growing world" for Oliver Queen. New series regular Colton Haynes has also teased that "a few of the most important DC characters" will be joining the series.

For one of the lesser known comic book heros and having to aim at a younger demographic (than me) it's pretty impressive. Of course it's cheesy but I could appreciate the attempt to frame these characters in a more subtle and realistic way.

SDCC Season Two preview and promo video.

Oliver Queen (series star Stephen Amell) will have his work cut out for him when he returns to Starling City on October 9 for the second season of The CW’s #1 series Arrow (Wednesdays 8/7c). At today’s Comic-Con panel session in Ballroom 20, fans learned of two new DC Comics characters coming to Starling City — Bronze Tiger and Sebastian Blood. Executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Knight, Mortal Kombat) will guest star as Bronze Tiger, while Kevin Alejandro (Southland, True Blood, Golden Boy) will appear as Sebastian Blood in upcoming episodes of the acclaimed action drama’s second season (airdates to be announced).

Michael Jai White plays Ben Turner, a claw-wielding assassin better known as Bronze Tiger, who’s well known to DC Comics fans as a member of both the League of Assassins and the Suicide Squad. On Arrow, he’ll form an unholy alliance with fan-favorite villain China White (played by Kelly Hu), another well-established character in the DC Comics universe.

Kevin Alejandro plays Sebastian Blood. Drawing inspiration from the iconic New Teen Titans nemesis Brother Blood, Sebastian is an alderman who rises to power in the wake of the earthquake that devastated Starling City in Arrow’s first-season finale. Blood’s “man-of-the-people” popularity instantly places him at odds with Oliver Queen, whose family he blames for the quake.
