Hi folks,
Just received Asmus Thranduil,
it was a gift from the gf.
I was a little worried because of the leaked production pictures, but I have to say,
with the figure in hand, I was ecstatic with how well it turned out.
I love the elven designs from Tolkien, and Asmus did a fantastic job with him.
Even tho I'm not a fan of the Hobbit movies themselves, I'm so glad I have him in my collection right now.
Can't wait for Legolas and Elrond. Here's hoping for some elven guards as well.
I did some fuzzing on his hair, gave his armour some weathering, washes and highlights (nothing major)
Customized/repainted his base.
I'm still considering making him his crown of thorns.

Very nice upgrades! That cape is perfect, custom made?
And a pic for height purposes....I personally think the extra inch makes him look more king like and imposing...I also think it makes him look more powerful and really physically imposing....he is after all a very imposing fighter....you can also see tauriel with an extra inch...makes her look more elvish I believe.
THANK YOU...yes custom made....the red velvet was easy to find.....however the pewter silver....holy heck was hard to find....had to order fabric online...some looked like fur...some was to thick....some were not the right color....I have probably 10 yards worth of different gray velvets lol

To anybody else who ordered through Entertainment Earth, have you been charged or gotten a shipping notice? He should be shipping this month, and when I checked my order page a few minutes ago it said "Pre-sold out May 2017" under the shipping date and I'm a bit worried. Why would it say "sold out" on my order page?

It always says that on the order page for sold-out items, as it displays the current status from the site for that item. If you have an existing order, you're good.
I'm shocked Thranduil sold out so fast, though, considering Bard and Tauriel are still in stock well over a year after release.

I ordered from EE also and no charge or shipping info yet either....it is only May 2nd so I'm guessing it'll be later in the month
As I recall, Thranduil had a much lower edition size. But it's still a testament to how well the figure turned out, I think, that people snapped him up, considering how -- putting it politely -- underloved -- The Hobbit films are.
It's a pity about the other Hobbit figures, though. I think Tauriel and Bard turned out very well. In fact, I still think Bard is their best likeness by far in the entire Middle-Earth line.
