A little side project i did today at work. Just to see if it looked cool. I tried blue first. I might try red next.

Looking sick!
I especially love it with the skull face. Red eyes sound awesome- can't wait to see!!!

Thanks.
I got the red one done yesterday. I didn't drill the black pupils in this one. I reckon just the simple mod of replacing the normal eyes with unlit LEDs makes them look more lifelike, almost like they are camera lenses. I took some unlit images just to show that. The residue on the inside of the eyes in the first few pics is just some hot glue i used to keep the LEDs in place for the pics.

How can you spot the fakes? I have a chance to grab one of these at a reasonable offer, but I'm not sure if it's the 2016 reissue version or bootleg

The fakes have loose legs and eyes don't re-position. Plus the paint looks a bit more shoddy. You can really tell with the paint apps on the eyes. The bootlegs show up clearly in a shot of the eyes.

Firstly price, quality of plastic and paint application. However, most notably the official one have eyes that can be moved. While the KO is glued so you can't

Man, if 1000toys ever makes a version that has eyes that looks like that I'd buy that **** up in a heartbeat.
Very groovy work Username :)

Thanks. It's not a tough mod job. Stick the head in a small tub of boiling water to loosen the eyes and then just replace them with the ball bearings. As i did the mod on the bootleg, they didn't want to stay in there, so i added some hot glue after pressing them into place. I ca still, once again, put it in a cup of boiling water to loosen the hot glue if i need to. But i like the look.

The CRC synthetic human is pretty rare. Toy show exclusive. Comes in a plastic bag. There are two variations, one for North America and one for Asia, with the differences being the print on the t-shirt. Just in case you didn't know, only the eyes are blue. Their shorts, t-shirt, and helmet are black. The pictures in the link you have there make the clothing look lighter than it actually is. The helmet is the same as the ones that came with the anti-Carb squad but with a different attachment (no hose). It also came with a cheap synthetic human halloween mask and a nice t-shirt. As for worth, no idea, but I'd guess at least $300 USD.

If you want a synthetic human with blue eyes, Duke has blue eyes. I just received mine this week from Alpha Industries and have the same floppy body issue. Is nail polish the best way to go?

I'd say that or Pledge floor wax. Just apply it VERY carefully though because it really does work and a lot goes a long way. It's really easy to make joints too tight and snap them.

Honestly- a super big disappointment that 1000toys shipped these with floppy bodies. I expected better for their price tag

The body is just about a degree or so too loose. Naked, the figure is okay. It isn't as tight as the OG releases but you couldn't call it floppy either. It can hold most vertical two leg standing poses if still. If you give it even a light shake, or hold it horizontally, the figure will flop. The clothing, his heavy rifle, boots, all add to the weight on the limbs and torso so he had a tendency to buckle and fall over too easily.

Anyway, I am very happy to say that Pledge Multi Surface Floor Finish did the trick. I picked up a bottle and got to work on the figure today. I popped the torso into several pieces and used a dropper to administer a tiny half drop into the 'female' joint. Then I popped the body back together and worked at it. It felt too tight at times so I had to balance out with a dab of petroleum jelly. I even dripped Pledge into his crotch areas (one side at a time) to get the kicking to be a little stiffer. Figure is pretty near perfect now, and even smells great, thanks to the Pledge fresh scent! :)

I've never taken a 1000toys body apart before and was thankful at how easy it was to do. You don't need tools, just controlled popping, so it's still a well designed toy.

After futzing with the clothes and the figure for better of two hours, I've grown to really like the figure.

With the trendy flight jacket and boots he has right now, he gives me a bit of a British skinhead vibe. So the jacket will probably go back into his box and I will customize him with some 1/6 military vest and gear I have kicking around. Just as well as the zipper is enormous!

I do wish the clothes were weathered, like his face. I'm not going to weather a $200 figure though! With the HS, Duke's short hair cut really exposes his robot skull on the sides. I think creating a scarf or something to go around his neck may help as well. I created some beautiful long scarf for my Snake Eyes and my Joumon Kugutu figure with some wired ribbon before I got from Michaels.

Does anyone have a link to the cheapest 1/6 replica? I missed the one that was under $35.
