Wow, the detail on that panel is sick. So how long after the prototype is done until we see these being mass-produced?

I have visions of whole warehouses of children assembling these in sweatshops

That looks really good. You mentioned building a front landing gear, I imagine you'll be building an ejection seat. Beyond that what else do you have planned?

You said the wings are a no-no. (but seriously, they would be awesome.) What about just the rear fuselage, or perhaps one finished side of engines? Cockpit lights?

Well I did start making the wings and fuselage but the chuffin thing was bigger than me! The wings slotted in the sides and would have been ace but maybe one day I will go back and work on them. I have learnt so much from when I started this little adventure and every time I do a little more I see more and more mistakes that I made right at the beginning. But I am trying really hard to ignore them a just see it as a learning curve.

Lights in the cockpit would be just amazing. I did experiment at the beginning of the project with lights but I lack the skill to do it right. but I may well go back and have a little play

The ejection sit is also a must but I am going to leave that till last. Once I have spayed up the entire x-wing and done a bit of weathering I think I will reassess everything and think about the next stage.
I try not to plan to far ahead as I am a doer more than a talker. There are so many things I want to do and I am really enjoying getting back into building rather than casting stuff and I am itching to get back to the falcon, I dread to think what sort of broken mess that is in.

I also want to thank every one for the comments and words, they are always welcome and motivating.....

I was quite happy stumbling along thinking I would get this done this week.... but owwwwww no along you come with your bright ideas...

Dooh I would get a lot more done if I didn't have to walk the dog, do the washing, hoovering, cook the dinner, solve world peace do work for charity (but I dont like to talk about that, rescue a cat form a 60 foot tree and do me hair!!!

Naaa, don't rebuild... You might chip the paint up doing a backlit transparency, but paint scrapes and x-wings go together like peas and carrots. /forestgump

I'm going on that I finished re-painting a blaster and started painting a face...

and there you are building an X-wing with lights, landing gear no doubt that will go up and down reverse parking lights and alarm as well...

but keep up the great work

Matr I love your renga and zuckuss it's so inspirational to see every bodies work big and small. I know for a fact that there are so many folks on the boards that produce the most amazing stuff but never post pics which is fine but just imagine if more people started posting there work, imagine the excitement, creativity and banter!

One chap I was chatting to sid he was to embarrassed! Another said his photos were rubbish!
For me it's all about giving it ago. The way I see it is if I can inspire one person to pick up a paint brush or take a hack saw to their favourite dolly then that's just fanchuffintastic.... The reason I post pics is because it helps me.. Keeps me focused and I hope it inspires others...
