its amazing mark! i'm trying to learn a bit of the painting, can you explain why you painted it a black coate first?

Mark, you sure do work fast. I am out of it for a few days and you have it painted up and most of the details already sorted out. It looks like a prop used in the the filmaking process. Fantastic stuff mate!!

But a top find looks great

I saw a commercial for it the other day and thought it was one of the more irresponsible toy. Lets give kids an inexpensive camera they can use to post videos on the internet

But, on the upshot maybe it will have its uses for customizers

Now onto more serious things...
Love how the color scheme is coming out on this... you've definitely hit your stride here

Prog me old chum!! Why paint it black haha I have no idea mate! Brinn told be to nah its to help bring out the detail. You can see it more if you look at the section behind R2, it works even better on smaller models like Warhammer.

So with the power down for some of today and no power tomorrow all day not a lot of spraying has happened or will happen.... so

Love the start of the targeting computer. And I'm digging the choice of headsculpt for your pilot. He's got a good SW look to him

So is the outfit on your pilot primarily from the Hasbro figure?

Yeap Barbie Boy the hasbro does it again, but the vest isnt helm is Tomy..... I love the pilot to... I have to build a Snowspeeder next!

is that because the next layers don't get into the finer details? like a wash, only backwards?

Yeah a snow speeder would be cool. I remember when I first joined I was gassing to a chap how had made one it was amazing and he was a top chap to...

Although, I was thinking about what kind of base you would put under this... You know three or four sections of Death Star 'tile' would look great!

thanks for the advice/ i'm going to give it a try on my current project. i am building the Ertl model STAP and Droid. I guess its an easy model but its the first 1 I did since I was 10 years old.

That is a great model I made one of those a while back for DeathStalker I really enjoyed it, but the droid is a pain to put on the STAP.

I am really enjoying this....... I drilled a hole in the rear bulkhead so the sighting computer can extend.... oowww nurse...

yeah. STAP is a cool model. i already finished the droid, but I am thinking of repainting it with your tip. I just painted the beige straight onto the model and now when i whether it, it doesn't look as good as I think primering it will.

On the STAP itself, did you paint it before you put it together or after?
