Nice setup, Slikkerias. I haven’t seen one with such a light chin tone before.

Ever since I picked up my Tuskens, I’ve been wanting to build a Bantha. Space Crawler did a nice build in the customs section but I’d most likely go an inch taller and go with a sculpted body for the base.

Yeah, almost looks like it's a repaint.

But yeah, nice display, slikk.

No, it’s definitely not a repaint.

It probably has a lighter tone than most, but the photos make it much more pronounced.
The one on the box has almost the same difference... but anyways. I think it looks great.

Yeah, I don't think its a repaint. Like you said, maybe they changed painters during production.

I would be curious to see others and there production number.

I have 842.

Googling the SSC dewback it’s clear that mine is not the only one with the lighter underside. Mine is not lighter than these irl. These are some quick screenshots from google:

The customs section is still shut down right? ...I’d really like to see photos of that custom Bantha. Do you know where to find it?
I also think that a sculpted body is the way to go. “Simply” sculpt it to look like an elephant and then add the fur. Just like the real thing.
I’ve been looking around for a 1/6 elephant, but haven’t found one. Probably would need to give it a go myself.

I wish ssc would just release another dewback with a different pose. I would love a 2nd one but kept from buying just 2 of the same. they would get some repeat buyers like my self but even more that missed it the first time around.

The lighter colour under the neck looks more natural I think. Many lizards have that and the skin is probably softer there.

Makes sense to me.

Space Crawler’s build:

I’ve actually done searches for a 1/6 asian elephant in the past :lol I agree with the simple sculpt, just to get the basic shape of the beast since he/she will be covered with fur.

Yes, I feel like the lighter underside looks more realistic - though it might not be totally screen accurate.
