The straps they used are just two pieces of really thin pleather strips with light adhesive, the magnet clasp if rugged on improperly will peel the strap apart. It’s poor design, definitely a set and forget with the short side arm.

Fair enough -- I did just that and haven't noticed anything.

Lol just don’t touch it........ don’t even look at it.:lol

i have to say I've had 2 on display for the last year or more with no issues, ive futzed with them from time to time, however, im wondering if these are in dry environments or being handled too much ? what i do every 2 months or so is use a car detailing cleaner wipe and protector for plastic/vinyl/pleather, this seems to keep all boots, body suits etc.. well cleanesed, and hydrated if you will to avoid, flaking, drying, cracking or becoming brittle, never ever ever put soap/water to the figures, always use a mix of plastic, vinyl cleaner/protector, prefferably the wipes and they can be purchased just about any retail shop fopr about $3.99 usd

I never touched mine on the Specialist and it's still managed to completely disintegrate. Might just use some sort of twist tie to keep it on for now.

Specialist #1 futzed it many many times... disintegrated.
Specialist #2 futzed once... leather and suede parts separated/delaminated.
Deluxe futzed once... still holding on minimal peeling.
Regular still boxed... ???
Weakest pleather material I’ve seen (4yrs 1/6 collecting).
This was just futzing the holster.
In regards to futzing and posing the figure - many many times. Joints stiff and the rubber suit at the elbows are good as new.

Man I hate hearing stuff like this. A real turn off to spending that much money on high end figures. Sorry to hear about those with deteriorating figure accessories, that's a real bummer.

Thanks guys!
Actually regarding the thread talking of deteriorating holsters, my troops are good as new, albeit delicate design. No failed straps here.

I noticed yours are holstered differently. I had mine where the strap wrapped around the base of the scope - blaster points straight down. I believe if you did that the shear weight of the blaster ruins the thin double layered pleather. I’ll most likely repair/remake my damaged ones at some point.
