Disney are making it too easy to dismiss these films. First ducktroopers; now parked Landspeeder chasing troopers on top of some silly out of place Asian martial arts homage.

The movie must also have some Indian guru sitting cross-legged amidst colorful incense who gives some sage advice -- to capitalize on the expanding market in India as well.

Disney's a whore.

Disney just seem to be using our once sacred Star Wars as a mass merchandising vehicle. I'm sure they've only introduced these characters to try and ignite a more popular following in Asia. It's a real shame, Star Wars is an obsession with me and has been since 77, but IMO these new films are missing the point and aren't bringing anywhere near the level of originality and magic that the original trilogy did.

It is clear as Snow White's complexion that Disney is trying to cater to specific markets with its "original characters". Which is fine, if they treat those characters consistently within the established framework of the Star Wars universe... at least OT style, meaning a mix of clichés and archetypes. Vader was Samurai, Nazi and Black Knight.... Han was gunslinger and pirate... Ben was monk, wizard and ancient wise man....

So what is Chirrut but a "stick-man" from the Orient? They could have at least cast him against type.

Not sure where you're coming from with that comment? How does a lack of originality and the Star Wars trilogy becoming a mass merchandising exercise equate to racism? We all know that Disney was disappointed with the ticket sales in Asia for the Force Awakens. If you didn't then maybe read and learn a bit more before you start throwing around the Race card.

This is going to be so cool when Chirrut faces Vader, does a heap of stick spinning, cartwheels and Martial Arts noises for about 30 seconds........then Vader ignites his lightsaber.

This is why they haven't shown Vaders lightsaber yet. They don't want to spoil this scene......it's all coming together now.
