I would think they use solvent/lacquer based paints. Reason being I tried stripping factory paints off vinyl heads and they only come off when I used lacquer based thinners.

Plenty of character in the sculpt, I would give him thicker brows though.

I have a 0.3 procon and a 0.2 Tamiya and they're great. Never owned an Iwata but they're all made in the same factory in Japan so they should be similar in terms of quality. If you're using purely acrylics you can probably look into Harder & steenbeck, which I read is really good. At the end...

Excellent work! One thing though, when I look at the sculpt my attention is kept drawn to the mouth. I'm not sure whether it's the camera angle or there's too much a gap between the lips and teeth, making it look strange.

Very nice, looking forward to seeing the sculpt with hair.
