Bride of Frankenstein is one of those rare instances where the sequel is superior to the original. Personally, I think Dracula (1931) is much stiffer and less dynamic than Frankenstein. Lugosi is great but the rest of the film is flat.

I'd suggest checking out some early German Expressionist-type films and then giving Frankenstein another chance. Just out of curiosity, what's your opinion on Lon Chaney Sr. movies?

Monster Squad (remake) is currently in preproduction. Personally, I'd like to see Dead and Buried remade . . . As well as a proper adaptation of I Am Legend.

I'm not trying to deny Romero his legacy or anything, I just think his biggest contribution to the genre has been the inspiration he's provided to other creative people.
