IF, IF they do Karloff...I would expect either the door or the windmill. Or perhaps a piece of lab machinery. The table doesn't match the suit, and they seem to be very accurate and pay attention to details such as these.

As to the eventual Wolfman. There are lots of dioramic things they could do. Forest, Graveyard, Talbot Mausoleum, Jail cell from House of Dracula. Or something we aren't even thinking of.
Many people were upset the NECA laboratory table didn’t swivel up to be upright. The public at large hasn’t seen the original movies anymore and rely on pop culture references now. I too think the table wouldn’t be the route to go either. The doorway being done like Nosferatu would be a great set. Even Mezco opted for that route.

I have watched the movies religiously myself, lol. When peeps say stuff like this, or how the suited monster would look great with his table (swivel or otherwise), they are obviously thinking of someone other than King Karloff, as you say. When Glenn Strange took over, he spent a lot of time on the table, wearing the Karloff style suit from the 1931 film. As more or less a breathing prop let loose at random intervals to "die".

As for the windmill, its been done twice in resin form that I am aware of. Maybe more. It would certainly make for an excellent diorama, as opposed to a table. He would have to be wrapped in bandages to be film accurate for him to lie on. Which would make for a head scratcher of a figure choice.

The door has been done as well by Mezco...and others. KP is very interested in details like this, so I would be shocked if they went the table route. If they even do Karloff at all, given Universal's less than ideal reputation with their licensing to folks. They have weird rules. I haven't heard so much as a peep about Karloff Frankenstein being done by KP. That's not to say they aren't considering it, and I don't speak for them. I have heard nothing though. I have heard plenty of Wolfman rumors though.

I would think if they did a Wolfman they would have to get Universal involved. The Universal Monsters haven’t hit public domain yet, right? So they would need them to sign off, even if they have the Chayannes’ rights. And that could open the door for Frankenstein (and hopefully more).

Public Domain isn't what I am referencing. The Chaney Estate had been in a long and drawn out fight with Universal for quite awhile. It's over now.

The Chaney heirs won.

Look to Trick or Treat Studios for an example of what I am referring to. They can literally license anything of Wolfman or Mummy by simply licensing through Chaney Entertainment.

ToTS just lost their Universal license, and everything specific to Universal had to vanish. Yet Chaney Wolfman and Phantom items are still on the site, in stock, with more planned. Including figures of Quasimodo, Phantom, Wolfman, and possibly Kharis as 6 inch figures. In fact, their masks and mini busts are simply being re tagged and offered through Chaney Entertainment.

With this ruling, they have free reign to offer any monster, from any film, that either Chaney starred in.... despite it being Universal, AIP, or any other film company. As long as it is marketed as "Lon Chaney as...." and not "Universal Monsters". It was a big win for the Chaney Estate. Bela Lugosi won as well. That's why you see "Bela Lugosi as Ygor" on items by Retro-Go-Go....but universal gets nary a penny. There's been talk of Glenn Strange's heirs being next up to bat.

Example of the new licensing wording:

Check out the box for the mini bust: No mention of Universal Studios. Big win for the heirs. It's also why we are seeing generic Wolfman images now in the Official Universal Monsters product style guide.

Ah, interesting! Licensing is so fascinating. Nowadays all that gets buttoned up really well but these older properties that couldn’t have even predicted what might come in the future are usually a hot mess. Hopefully KP can be more like NECA and play nice with Universal so we can get Karloff and other characters too. With Dracula and potentially the Wolfman being done by them Frankenstein would be sorely missed if they don’t make him. I’d actually love a non-Karloff mummy for once so if a Chaney mummy comes after Wolfman I would actually be pretty ecstatic.

Lon Jr. was the only fella in the stable to play all the Fab Four Monsters. Wolfman (his baby), Kharis Mummy (in more Mummy films than any other Universal player), Frankenstein and even Dracula (not very suave, Son of Dracula). So technically, all the bases could be covered with just The Chaney license. More or less anyway.

For years, there were no Cushing, Lee or Price figures for reasons of licensing. Victoria Price found a work around. Now it appears so have Hammer films, as they have recently been acquired by a tycoon who wants to make even more money.

I am a super nerd on all things nerd. When it comes to Classic Monster Movies though: it borders on OCD, lol.

I typically love diorama pieces with a figure, but I am not crazy about the quality of this organ from KP. Anyway, the organ needs pipes behind it to even look like an organ, and that would be a massive job to make as custom. I am planning on preordering just the single figure, but I am wondering where I can place him in my displays

Aside from the castle door.. Maybe the wooden chair where he struts backward and sits stiffly can be a good prop for him..

By the way, the reason I say IF to Karloff is, Sara Karloff sold off the rights to her father's likeness to Universal Studios. So she isn't doing deals like Lugosi and the Chaneys are anymore. IE, the only way to see Karloff as Frankenstein from a licensed producer is if they go through Universal. Universal has more rules than John Kramer in regards to the games they play with their licenses too, lol.
Wow, I didn't know that! Edit: I read the article that she won the lawsuit against Universal, and retain the rights for Karloff Frankenstein. Maybe she sold off the rights so that Karloff Frankenstein can have better treatment in terms of collectible items and merchandises..

I wonder if Universal would still open their door for KP to get their license for Karloff Frankenstein, knowing that KP has released their "monsters" under the heir's estate licensing, which is Universal's enemy in court.

I agree, that's what made me think twice about ordering the organ.. it needs the pipes!

It might not be screen-accurate.. But was hoping for the organ to be like this:

Somehow it looks more grand and gothic in a way, more fitting to the "opera" setting.

But I get it, screen accurate is better, and I think it's cheaper the way it is.

The organ didn’t have visible pipes in the film. It’s up against a stone wall

Besides the masked face sculpt option, not sure how they left that out?
Don't know how "poseable" the musical score book is, was hoping for a closed book option with title, as per the above still. (yeah, somewhat insignificant detail, I'll live :lol )

I don't know if any of the iconic film versions of Phantom of the Opera had an organ like this. Haunted Mansion "Play it Again, Sam" perhaps. Not POTO though.

True, was just hoping for a more theatrical/operaish organ, a bit exaggerated look just for the aesthetic..

But of course screen accurate is more important, true to the scene. 👍🏻

I’m glad the organ version comes with the standard magnetic stand. I’m going to pose my SS Masque of Red Death on it.

Edit: I doubt Sideshow is going to include the crypt step base, so I went ahead and ordered direct from Infinite Statue.

The accessory that’s missing (for me) is the mask. How can you release a Phantom figure without his mask? I’ll just give him the sideshow one I ‘spose.
I feel the exact same way. To include his hat, but no alternate masked head seemed odd to me too. I didn't want to be the first to mention it though, lol.;) Perhaps the eye movement made it cost prohibitive in some way. Or maybe it was planned, and nixed, but the hat was already done? There's a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes with this stuff.
