Based on? Personally, I've found Gunn's films to be pretty consistent when it comes to being a good watch. Suicide Squad is probably his weakest, but it wasn't bad.

My main concern is secondary characters taking the forefront and being too involved. This is a Superman film and hope the focus is on him.

Just based on any of his previous movies. I liked GOTG first go-round but it grinds on me on every rewatch. You'd have to pay me a lot of money to rewatch GOTG2 or TSS.

You know what, yeah, GOTG2 was pretty bad. GOTG3 was amazing though.

You say every show was canceled like they were horrible and only last a year, but most ran for several years before ending.

Superman and Lois 4 seasons
Supergirl 6 seasons
Legends of Tomorrow 7 seasons
Arrow 8 seasonss
The Flash 9 seasons

I'm not saying all these shows were great, or stayed great for their entire run. Just answering your question and showing that the number of people is more then you suggest, and the shows were around a lot longer then what you allude to.

I watched some of the shows for a bit, and did watch the crossover events. Those are not good numbers for tv viewership by any means.

Here is an image of Flash viewership by season. The most successful of all the Arrowverse shows. Look at the abysmal ratings overall. Season 9 averaged less than a million views per episode.

Started with 12mil views, ended with 6 mil. And CBS cancelled it (picked up by CW and never even had close to CBS numbers). And it had far more viewers then The Flash ever did. It was in the media quite a bit how much money the CW lost for WB over the years, and how any of these shows ever even stayed on the air.

Yea I wasn’t a fan of gotg until the third film and the game. 3 is a damn good film

And what does any of that have to do with your Crisis question or anything I said? I didn’t say anything about CW losing money. Your graphs actually support what I said that the number of people watching were more then you were alluding to.

Also these differences and references, the original, the Kingdom Come, the Snyder logo or any other, might hold weight hear, yet are mostly meaningless to the "general audience", all they have to see is a somewhat red and yellow "S" shape on blue chest, and be told it's Superman and that's it, nobody is going to be upset or confused by any of it.

Do you know what it could have done with...making the bottom part of the S thicker like the top part to make it stand out from the thin border.

My initial statement was a discussion about the odd choice for the new Superman logo and its somewhat radical departure from the iconic norm. And then how it was already used once on a TV show with very low viewership when compared to a WORLDWIDE audience for a Movie. And how many people around the WORLD would perhaps be a little confused in identifying the new logo, which wasn't actually new. And said how it was used in the unsuccessful CW Arrowverse.

You then said that that TV show did pretty good and had a viewership of 2.5 million (as if that was respectable). And the shows ran for many seasons. I was pointing out to you that that number is EXTREMELY low. And how the CW was bleeding money for WB. Which is indeed fact.

You brought up the CW as a whole and claimed its success. Not me. Yet now I'm obsessed with the CW.

You should go read what I wrote in the initial post. I specifically referred to your question “How many people actually watched Crisis” and to your vague suggestions that not alot of people watched and that the Arrowverse shows didn’t last long.

Let me get this straight you are arguing that a design for a movie that is similar to one from a TV show would confuse “many” people. But yet you argue that no one watched the series or it had low viewership. Why would “many people” be confused if you claim the show had low viewership? That is two contradictory claims. So which is it? Many people watched and many people would be confused or not a lot of people watched and not a lot of people will be confused?

Never mind the fact we have other properties including this one where the multiverse is a thing and people understood that even though there is a TV show with similar names and designs, it’s different from the movie they are now watching.


I’m not sure what you consider a success for TV shows, but when a TV series or in this case a group of series have been on for over a decade and watched by millions of people consistently over that span of years. It’s considered a success in the TV world.

You were the one who asked a question about viewership and then went on a tangent about how much money the CW makes, no one watched, etc, in a forum dedicated to talking about the Superman movie. Yes you have a weird fixation on the CW shows and wanting them to be considered a failure.

Yeah I think the SR one is still the coolest. Especially when you see how they looked on the actual costumes.
