Yeah if my Gandalf arrives looking like some of these photos I've seen recently on Facebook, where they clearly applied like twice the amount of hair vs earlier batches, then I'm definitely just selling it on and likely passing on further rooted InArt figures. I was already unconvinced of their quality control and ability for any consistency in production. Mine has supposedly shipped from Spec so we'll see, I'm guessing it's not one of the final batches since it was on a boat for a while getting over here.

Just got mine. Everything seems to be in order (no serious issues with hands or paint). Damn, that sculpt is amazing.

But he does seem to have rather a lot of hair and beard. Very full. I need to take some time over the weekend to futz and style him a bit. I don't think it will be an issue once I get him properly set up. I hope.

Very nice figure. Thumbs way up.

Well, cover me impressed. They guys included info about the battery and if everyone had read the manual (RTFM!) they would not be asking InArt questions about after sales issues. They clearly state it there to contact the store you purchased the figure from. And only reach out to InArt if you receive no reply from the shop.
Another thing is that according to the included card, my fig was manufactured in August 2023... Talk about long delivery......
Oh, did I mention the sculpt is a KILLER?!? Down to the age spots on the skin. Eat that, Asmus!

And yes, I sniffed the sculpt. Has a distinct smell like of some styling gel
i also have a 8/23 batch and had problems with the grip hands. One works great the left one just falls right off. Might have been a batch error.

Hey people When was your figure made if you had defects? I can imagine the QC slipping a bit in the later batches with the new artists being hired on. I’m curious if there’s any correlation with the other problems people had

Gandalf has arrived! Quick pic with minimal futzing. He needs a little love but a great looking figure all around. Water treatment for sure is next then I’ll see if I can lessen the poofy hair.

So many goodies in the box. I have yet to unwrap everything. That book is amazing. Sword is amazing.

One thing’s for sure, I hate that magnetic wrist design. So far I’ve found one hand that has a shallow magnet that keeps it from connecting properly. It’s an unnecessarily complicated design, manufacturing step and expense too I’d imagine. Just do what Sideshow does and include a wrist peg on every hand.

The sculpt is great and the paintwork on it and the hands is outstanding.

That’s a nice base? Custom? Or from another release

I just don't understand why the big companies aren't making cool stuff like this. (I mean, it would never be THIS nice, of course! But still!) Seems like there's a market for mass produced dios. A bit of Rivendell? Lothlorien? Front door of Bag End?

Will you be selling these, TwistedMetal? Do you have a thread?
Rivendell and Lothlorien yes please!

Got mine yesterday. Very full beard and quite a lot of product lmao.

The front of the beard was tucked under itself in the head sculpt jar, so it made a crease along the width of the whole beard. Any tips for smoothing that out?

Water! Think that's the first thing that everyone who gets the figure should do. Some wet finger tips or wetting a soft make up brush works well. He didn't have a wide beard in the movie. It was pretty narrow and straight. Reference his look from Fellowship and aim for that.

Agreed! Sideshow has been doing that for over a decade now since their development of the Prometheus body and they're still the only ones who are.

What I've found on this particular figure is that it seems they didn't account for the thickness of the magnet inside the hand peg hole so almost none of the hands actually sit flush with the wrist peg, at least on mine. There's a noticeable gap between the wristpeg and the actual hand.

I've also noticed the magnets in his boots are much weaker than the ones in Joker's shoes. With Joker, you can lift him and the base will come with it b/c the magnets are so strong. With Gandalf, there's some connection, but it's pretty weak. I even tried with some magnetic metal plates I purchased in order to try to make my own magnetic stand and Gandalf had a significantly weaker connection with direct contact than Joker did.

Looks really good! You seem to have a much fuller and longer beard than mine.
