Gareth Edwards was also initially a VFX artist, he did the VFX work on his film Monsters himself and that cost like $250,000
Rogue One has the most artistic shots out of the Star Wars films that have come out lately, he had artists create concepts for things based off the script and many of the really nice shots there were created from those.

Stupid Godzilla x Kong: New Empire!!! :banghead

Apparently Toho has an agreement with Legendary that they won't ever release their own Godzilla movie in the US the same year that a Legendary Godzilla comes out. And since New Empire is coming out on blu-ray this year that means we can't get GMO Stateside until 2025. :gah:

I think you're jumping to conclusions a bit. As far as everything I've found, the agreement pertains to theatrical release dates, not home video.
 
Yeah, it's coming to Prime on May 3, there will probably be a home disc release this year sometime, it usually takes longer than the Japanese releases. It'd be nice to get a dubbed version, I have friends that would prefer that if we watched it together.
 
And at least I'll have the Japan release to tide me over until we get something Stateside. ;)

That Prime release date is in Japan only, correct? I still haven't seen a confirmed US streaming or disc release date. I'll end up getting a Japanese disc on eBay or something like that. Anxious to see it in my home theater!

My understanding was that May 3rd is the Prime release date in Japan only. There's been no announcement for the US regarding streaming or disc releases.
