What is that? A fan mockup or some sort of official poster for a re-release?
It said 'fanart'. Seems more AI generated to me. At least I hope no real human being would mistake that monstrosity for the real Arnold Schwarzenegger. And the Endoskeletons at the bottom - the one on the left is NECA - the one on the right might be Hot Toys, not sure. Even the Tech Noir Arnie doesn't seem to be from the movie. Might be a toy aswell but I don't recognize the head.

I don't like Toys becoming reference for stuff like this. Especially when they manage to make it onto official publicity material as the old Hot Toys Jungle Hunter Predator did.

Sheesh, I'd have at least Photoshopped some improvements while in the program.

I was finally able to see Prime 1's 1/2 Arnie up close at a collectible shop today. They had a number of pieces I'd previously written off based on photos and videos, but this was the only one that still didn't impress in person. No amount of natural light or real-life presence can fix that hair.

Wonder if anyone with salon experience has ever customized one of these.
That wouldn't even be enough. The hairline is completely wrong, the mouth is wrong and I don't know what the fat folds on the forehead were based on - certainly not Arnie.

Yeah, it's also a pet peeve when poster art sneaks in sequences from sequels that have nothing to do with the film being marketed, like future Endos walking around with plasma rifles that never appeared in T1.

Does this piss anyone else off?

I've seen it and thought it to be quite funny.
You can buy it off of Amazon, printed on canvas. :lol
I don't know what's the TC Arnie, but the RIGHT right endo is the HT QS, yeah.

I wonder what the others are, but I'm with you: no new pictures, just pics of toys is weird.^^

I'm not against fan-made or otherwise "artsy" contemporary posters for older films (in fact, I have one of those for Terminator on my office wall!), but this one isn't doing it for me aesthetically, irrespective of the source material. It is weird to see toys with questionable likenesses being used as source material for things like this. Having said that, if it was made for fun by someone and they enjoy the final product, then good on them. I'm sure it takes a fair amount of talent to put something like that together, and frankly, it's not worse than many Photoshopped official movie posters I've seen over the last decade or so.

I just read through some of the discussions of timelines and inconsistencies from a few months back, and it just reinforces to me that T2 is the source of all that is bad in the world. Shame on that film, and shame on any of you who like it.

On a collectible-related note, I got the Mafex 1984 Terminator last week, and I think that is a damn nice figure. I've got a long history with Medicom, and from release to release I never know what to expect, but this is a sweet figure with lots of nice display options. I am a bit baffled by all the stand parts, and will probably have to find out what all those parts are needed for, but an unnecessarily complex stand isn't the worst problem to have.

I actively search for fanart Terminator posters. This was a big pass for me the first time I saw it. If I wouldn't buy the Prime 1 I certainly wouldn't buy a picture of it. It's amazing so many people still defend it. It's still available for crying out loud.

Technically this kid *did* save the world, lol.

Could have built a sequel around this kid ( Tim)

In a film about the "future war", Tim and his family get sent to a Cyberdyne death/labor camp. After being scanned and ID'd, he's told he has to find the Resistance, find John Connor, and lure him out, or his family will die. Or in exchange, if he succeeds, he and his family will be sent to a Cyberdyne underground test facility, where humans are given fair treatment, but observed, as human experiments to help further the cause of the machines.

IMHO, that would be interesting. Someone from John's past, where nostalgia kicks in, where he breaches right through the normal protocols and chain of command ( like young Henry Hill in Goodfellas) , to see if he can compromise him for good. They could have done flashbacks to John and Tim as young teenagers together as well.

You'd get lots of future war type battles for pure spectacle, plenty of fan service, some flashbacks to younger Sarah Connor, maybe some light scenes with middle aged Kyle Reese and older Connor, and a huge arc about the different tonal qualities of "Trust" in the middle of total despair. Unfortunately you'd need alot of SFX/CGI for this, but the technology is there now. Not cheap, not fast, but it's there.

"Friends" from your childhood ring different. They just do. There are people that you'd never be friends with if you met them as an adult, but because you had proximity, time and youth, you bond. A guy I knew as a kid, not huge friends, but we were cool, he ended up a drug addict later in life, starting around early college years. I saw him strung out in an aisle at a grocery store a long while later. He didn't see me, nor would he probably recognize me ( hoodie, hat, etc) but I saw him from a distance. Just kind of dug at me a bit, to see what he was before, and what he became. I think everyone has a story like that somewhere. And it's a template to relate to the audience.

Put it this way, there was a lot of better potential Terminator stories out there, don't have to be mine, that could surpass Genisys real easy.

So did any of you hear, or read anything for something substantial being done for 'Terminator 40'?
Messes with my mind and quite frankly ****** me off, that T2 always gets the glory for all anniversary, but for years, nothing was done for T1.
I mean it's the OG. WTF!?

T2 is the consumate big budget summer blockbuster, so yeah it gets all the glory. I did hear of something in the 1/6 figure world. Last I heard it was in a holding pattern. So ticked Oniri didn't get to make their statue. Hoping for a bust from Queen Studio, but they'll do 20 variations of T2 first.

True, of course, but BTTF was a surprise hit also and they don't leave it out.
I mean...T1 and 2 are always called at the same intake of air, always, yet 1 gets ignored. WTH?!

I have to let everyone hear my song after 10 years of it just sitting on youtube. I wrote this all from memory in order of the film scenes. Yeah I'm just s bit screwed up. I never rapped , wrote or made a song before . And haven't since.
