Hot Toys Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) - Spider-Man: No Way Home

Decided to Cancel this guy last night, dont wanna pay over $300 for a mediocre 5'2" Spider-Man figure with everything else being released.

I put mine on payment plans ending in April. Hopefully I get that perfect 4th batch!

I’m assuming you’re being hyperbolic when you say (5’2”) Spider-Man. Not sure why everyone says this one is too short. Toby is 5’8” tall or 68”. Divide that by 6 and you get 11.33 inches. Many photos and reviews have placed the figure at 29cm which converted to inches is 11.41 inches. Still taller than 5’8” in 1/6 scale.


I think people assume Toby was taller than he actually is.

tobey has double box option from sideshow, usually a good indicator that they are expecting stock soon

Thats odd I swear I thought he was shorter than that. Thats good though, but I decided he still didn't do it for me after all, and with HT doing Symbiote suit, I hope for true Raimi accurate GG and Tobey.

I was gonna keep them as placeholders but too much stuff coming out for me to do that lolol.

In regards to some of the scaling talks-- I could have sworn figures like Endgame Cap were actually thought to be slightly oversized? I feel like that's also playing a role here.

You're right, I think endgame cap is a bit oversized he's the same height as iron man

Come one now, Hot Toys don’t do scale or proportions. They just stick heads on bodies and leave us to figure it out later.

To be fair, in the Raimi series it was clearly not Tobey in the suit for fully masked scenes so which scale do you use?

TDK original undersized scale or TDK 2.0 scale? MOS oversized scale or BVS and JL scale? Maybe Arkham Knight supersized scale? Oversized male Avengers or undersized female ones?

The point is that consistency and accurately translating height is not much of a consideration. If a character is 180cm, the figure should be 30cm exactly. It's that simple. Just. make. It. 1/6. Scale.

I said it on Facebook and I'll say it here: he looks like he has a buttcrack on the top of his head.

Why does it look like he got hit in the head with an axe?

Hope that's not the final stitching/fabric. Can't tell if that's just the original HT head with the lens ripped off of it. Might be.

The lens and head shape is looking great.

I don't believe that's the final fabric, just a look at the new lenses. Vincetoy posted a pic of the new red fabric swatch without the webbing along with a note/caption update:

I’ll wait to see what Oaty/OT Customs cooks up. He’s planning on doing his run mid year. A seamless neck mod and lenses upgrade based on the OG movies.

I don't think he's doing anything about the lens or the forehead stitching, unless if I missed something. I rather go with vincent if it means we get those two areas fixed. Ideally the seamless neck + forehead stitching fixed + lens fixed would be the best of both.
