It’s simple they need to stop propping up all these z listers and give us characters we actually want to see. They have xmen and ghost rider and blade and fantastic 4. Stop with the bottom of the barrel characters like eternals and Agatha

I wouldn't worry too much about it. At this point the MCU will be lucky to make it to Avengers 5, let alone Secret Wars.
Not saying I want that, but unless they can get out of this hole they dug, I don't see the MCU lasting that much longer.

It's a damn shame that Disney doesn't take care of their toys, because it's the fans that suffer the most.
Deadpool 3 about to make so much money this summer. I also think echo this month will be better then expected.

I don't think I'll ever understand Hot Toys. This movie defied the post covid downturn to be one of the biggest hits ever and they drop the ball on almost every figure. Doc Ock's face, Andrew and now Tobey! The most iconic Spider-Man! this should have been a flagship figure and it's just so painfully average.

I've cancelled my pre-order and I'm going to get the Wolverine from DoFP 1973 version. I spent the money, so I've gotta use it on something!

I am convinced that the only reason The Batman figure is outstanding is because of competition from InArt.

That could well be true but then you have figures like Peacemaker, the Leto Jokers, Koska Reeves etc that are all outstanding despite little demand or competition.

There is no logic with Hot Toys.

Peacemaker definitely got an A-game makeover from the mediocre initial debut after there was word InArt would do their own. Of course the InArt version wouldn’t have released until 2032 but it seemed to light a fire under Hot Toys still.

Yeah, Im leaning towards cancelling this and just trying to get the diorama separately.
Between the enormous cost, the added tax and shipping from Sideshow I cant justify it if the figure itself isnt good.

Edit: - Yeah, I've cancelled, the glaringly obvious seam lines were what killed it for me in the end. Gotta hope I can get hold of this Sandman diorama piece for a non-ridiculous price. If anyone gets theirs and doesnt like it let me know and we can work out a deal.
Cancelled as well. I will only order the Hot Toys version if it looks like this sexy beast at all angles:

I just cannot compromise when it comes to my childhood hero.

Yeah, I can't believe how they dropped the ball on this. I saw Spider-Man 2 at the cinema six times (my record for a movie) - this is my Spidey.

If Hot Toys are smart (they aren't), they'll rework it and solicit a 20th anniversary Spider-Man 2 figure before the end of the year.

My other hope is that HT listens to the feedback on this one and makes the Spider-Man 3 Black Suit a masterpiece.

Perhaps Spiderman should be treated like Ledger Joker where companies are giving deluxe options of essentially 2 whole figures. In Spidey's case you get the fully suited up figure with as few ugly compromises as possible. No thick seams in prominent locations. Fully studied and tested underbodies and heads that will provide accurate shapes and silhouette to the costume on the figure. And then the 2nd figure is the unmasked actor head version - be it Holland or Maguire or Garfield.

Glad I held off. Only reason why I didn't preorder was because I only wanted the Deluxe and I thought SideShow's price-gouging of $450 was lunacy. I got over it and now after seeing pics and video, I'm still good.

This would be perfect, I much prefer the neck seam over the giant gap when the head is separate from the neck, but either way I never would display this maskless so I'd really like nothing being removable except the hands.

Looks like they sent Terry a good one; the webbing on the mask comes together between the eyes on his.

Yep, they definately sent Sideshow one of the prettier ones, and yet I am still utterly whelmed.
The neck/head/seams clustertruck is still so glaring even in a figure without the webbing issues or the egregiously ugly stiching/seam lines on the head and body.
If it was significantly cheaper I could swallow it, but for this price not a chance.

SS got a good sample. The web is still too low, but not as bad as other ones. That seem in the middle of the forehead though, wow that's bad at this price point.

Thinking more about canceling now, it's 500$ CAD after shipping, taxes, duties. (and that's the regular version that comes with nothing)

Who doesn't want a giant seamline coming down the forehead of their $300+ Spider-Man figure? Truly accurate to the movie.

As much as I’d love to have Raimi Spider-Man representation in my collection and having it let simmer since it released, I’m still not sold on this.

I just don’t feel good about it when it’s a subpar product, imo. I was even willing to look past how it’s not the ideal version that I truly want (Spider-Man 2), and that gaudy forehead seam-line and the off center lenses are not helping at all.

But can I have my display without my childhood hero? On the shelf, the flaws won’t be as noticeable and this is the one shot at a Hot Toys Raimi red/blue suit. Ugh.
