Just one reason I didn't like this Conan at all. It could be argued that these types of movies, are only as strong as the villains cast in them. And if you look at the three Conan Movies made, there is some evidence to support this.

I've never even finished watching Momoa's Conan the Barbarian. DVD Player committed Suicide halfway through, I kid you not.
Bland performance. Bad story. Weak SFX. And an uncompelling villain. That's what I got before giving up on it.

Conan the Barbarian (1982): 8/10
Conan the Destroyer (1984): 5/10

Same here. Conan may have had few lines in the first one, and the acting was largely unpolished, but there was something about that that made it work for me. Probably because they (Arnie and Sandahl) had been chosen for their athletic ability as opposed to acting ability.
