Well that is discouraging. I ordered DAY ONE in January and still have no shipment notification yet you got yours less than two weeks after ordering?? Wow...
By all indications people who ordered on day one will start receiving theirs soon as some of them are now seeing shipping costs in their order status. I do not have shipping costs on my order yet but the arrival estimate does show Oct-Dec.
Based on the current dates on the SS page, anyone who...
Maybe it's a licensing thing? Hot Toys obviously has the license for the figure. Maybe Sideshow is only allowed to make a statue in the life-size format and articulating the arms crosses the line.
Yeah, I see what you mean and agree. Other than the eyes, the production piece does look younger.
I'm really excited about this thing. Now I need to find a nice Mando helmet to display with it.
Thanks for the great comparison shots, Pizza. I wonder if the changes to the sculpt were required by Disney? I personally think the prototype is cuter but the production piece does look a little closer to screen accurate to me, especially the eyes which appear to be slightly too big and round on...
My order status still says August-October time frame. I'm holding out hope that the current dates listed on the public facing site are for people who order now and that the first wave will come before January. I guess we'll see...
They originally said it would ship in waves. My guess is that those dates are for people who order now. Hopefully the people who pre-ordered day 1 will get theirs sooner. The email they sent out recently seemed to imply they were getting close.
TV Show vs Sideshow. Obviously different lighting and slightly different head angle, but the expression is very similar. The most noticeable difference I see, as someone else already pointed out, is the lack of hair on the ears. Otherwise I personally think it looks REALLY close and I'm pretty...
This statue is all about the head. Obviously given who did the prototype they've got the sculpt/likeness completely nailed, and that's half the battle. The success/failure this piece will hinge on how well they pull off the skin and eyes. If they can properly replicate the color and translucence...
I'm with you. It seems very underwhelming for the price. I can think of a lot of other collectibles that would give me more enjoyment for $700. I think I'll just get Phil's autograph to pair with my Sideshow Tauntaun and call it a day...
