I guess it depends on how much you value screen accuracy of the sculpt. Consensus seems to be that the production piece is actually more accurate.

Maybe it's a licensing thing? Hot Toys obviously has the license for the figure. Maybe Sideshow is only allowed to make a statue in the life-size format and articulating the arms crosses the line.

Yeah, I see what you mean and agree. Other than the eyes, the production piece does look younger. I'm really excited about this thing. Now I need to find a nice Mando helmet to display with it.

My order status still says August-October time frame. I'm holding out hope that the current dates listed on the public facing site are for people who order now and that the first wave will come before January. I guess we'll see...

They originally said it would ship in waves. My guess is that those dates are for people who order now. Hopefully the people who pre-ordered day 1 will get theirs sooner. The email they sent out recently seemed to imply they were getting close.

This statue is all about the head. Obviously given who did the prototype they've got the sculpt/likeness completely nailed, and that's half the battle. The success/failure this piece will hinge on how well they pull off the skin and eyes. If they can properly replicate the color and translucence...
