Solo: A Star Wars Story

My wife and I thinking about one of the new LG 75" tv's. We are hopefully closing on the sale of our old house and will have extra money for the media room in our new house and we really like the picture on the LG oled tv. We are going to do a Bose soundbar system with Bass and Satelite speakers to really bring home the theater experience.

Finally got to watch Solo.

Not a bad movie at all. It's just... inconsequential. It seems to me it serves no real purpose. Sure, sure... how did Han and Chewie meet, how did Han win the Falcon, etc... but none of that is of any real consequence, is it?
I did enjoy it, there were some parts that actually had me chuckling, and some of the action scenes are great. It is a bit too dark most of the time, which I suppose fits in with the idea of a dark universe filled with shady characters under the shadow of the Evil Empire, but then the tone of the movie isn't aligned with that, so instead of enhancing the story, it just ends up looking... dark.
Although Ehrenreich's acting was solid (as well as Clark's and Harrelson's, but I expected much more from Glover), I never saw Han Solo in him. I didn't see much of Ford's mannerisms in his portrayal.
L3 was fun, but I felt she was completely misplaced in a SW movie. The whole "fight for equal rights" just seemed to have nothing to do in a SW movie.

Having said that, I'd be down for a sequel, if only to see Bossk, IG88 and the rest of the gang at the height of Jabba's power.
Maul, on the other hand, meh...

That's mostly how I feel about it as well. There was also no need to explain anything from the previous movies, especially his name. I thought that Ehrenreich was better as Solo than I anticipated. I wouldn't mind a sequel either, just as long as they don't try to explain anything from a previous SW movie.
I would like to see it again, waiting for it to hit Netflix before the Disney switcheroo.

Maybe it'll be interesting to see how they portray an 'alt-right'. The way they talk about alt-right I'd expect to see evil incarnate on the screen - but that wouldn't be very interesting and they know it, soooo...what will they do.

This is as "controversial" as Far Cry 5's premise. Which ultimately didn't have the nads to go all in as it should have. If anything, they might make a fairly compelling presentation given how the show handled gun politics reasonably balanced in S1.
And either way, Frank does what Frank does best - shoot ****** people. I don't think the character much cares what political background they come from. If that's the hurdle that keeps someone from watching the show, then their loss.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was spurred on or influenced by Bernthal's own experience. He openly told anyone who idolizes the Punisher and is associated with "alt right" groups to **** off.

I hate to say it, but... two out of three of Khev's personal PT are, to quote a certain Dark Lord of the Sith, "superfluous".

No need, pretty much everything ever mentioned in the OT has already been covered (which I guess also negates the need for a sequel!)
