Questions for Asmus

Asmus - will Eomer be part of the Helm's Deep collection, despite his cameo at the end?

Also - the old Toybiz Helm's Deep Legolas is still one of my all-time favourite figures - can't wait to see him from Asmus!

Makes total sense. Bilbo, Thorin and Azog, with the previous releases are a good representation for the Hobbit. I honestly wouldn't jump into the full dwarves roster, too much shelf space, even if they'd look amazing together.
As for Helm's Deep, a regular Uruk Hai (with removable helmet), Éomer and Théoden would be great, and hard to pass.

IMO there could be a few more dwarves. Balin, Dwalin, Fili and Kili at least.

Tho I understand the complexities of their costumes - WETA did go all out there. But there could be like a mini-dio base (like a Bag End interior). Or a few ponies.
Plus Beorn/bear would be incredible to have and he wasn't wearing a lot - boots, pants, tunic, axe.

For myself I'd never go all -out for LOTR, tho I have some WETA LOTR pieces. Still hoping for a rooted hair Hobbit Legolas - that Mirkwood armor.

First I need Thorin and Bilbo tho!

If was mainly the horrendous painting that ruined the figure. The sculpt was on par for that time.

Exactly. The figure was very good for its time. Actually, the entire Sideshow LOTR line was, except for the paint apps on Faramir and Aragorn. I had those two repainted immediately.

No, currently we have no further plan of any other dwarf,
possibly Kili? Fili? But we all feel the sell may not equal to the effort that would require
(The Hobbit characters are much more complex, Weta must have more money at the time)

We will pause on Azog, and focsuing on Helm's Deep in 2019

While I'm thrilled with the news that Helm's Deep characters are coming, I do admit to being a little sad you're pausing Azog and not planning any more dwarves. I would instantly buy Dwalin, Balin and Dain. Love their designs. I would happily pick up Kili and Fili as well. I don't need all 13, but seeing what a tremendous job you did on Gimli, I would definitely love to see a few more dwarves. I hope this is a decision you reconsider down the road.

The wording makes it a little confusing. I am hoping they mean pausing on Azog as in once he is done they are pausing on the hobbit and not that they are pausing on making him. Lord of the Rings is my first priority but I will not be saying no to any hobbit figures. I do hope they go back and do at least a few more of the 13 at some point. Kili and Dawlin seem to be the most likely to me since they were the ones that seemed to get the most screen time after Thorin. I would consider Kili, Fili, Dawlin and Balin as the most important ones. If those do not make financial sense for Asmus none of the others will.

True. It's a business. HT has its own shelf warmers. But I think Dwalin, Fili, Kili esp. w. accessories - Kili is the only dwarf archer, Dwalin with his twin axes, Fili with his twin swords - w. great sculpts I can't think with ASMUS's lower editions they wouldn't sell out. Maybe with a bit of Erebor diorama stand, or Bag End. Dain too would be amazing.

Any way you can let us know how many Middle Earth figures you are planning on releasing in 2019? I know the number will probably change but for budgeting purposes it would be nice to have a rough idea. For me this line is my top priority so I have to make sure to limit what other liscences get into.

If Asmus completed the fellowship, and is now focusing on helm's deep/ttt, does that mean they will eventually turn their attention to return of the king? So much potential. I hope this line doesn't stop any time soon.

I don’t want to pretend to know if this line has been a success for Asmus or not. I just know that I will buy damn near every figure that they release including multiples of the same figure in different outfits. Especially if the can match or top the quality they have been showing.

Heck, I'll get multiple releases and attempt to re-costume if I have to. Already debating on how to re-create 1/6 dwarf chain mail (Thorin battle costume) and pestering ASMUS for maybe "slim" releases of the rest of the dwarves - I really would like a Dwalin, Fili, and Kili minimum.

In terms of dwarves I'd go for Balin, Dwalin, Dain, Kili & Fili. Anyone after that is a blessing, although I'd love to see a Gloin (my favourite in terms of costume design)

For those that message Asmus has anyone heard word of Gandalf the White redo or a Nazgul reissue? With the older substantial characters it seems smarter to wait for a reissue or slim version.

They have been saying for years that they would redo the GTG and GTW headsculpts. If my memory serves right they were going to replace all the GTW sculpts for free because they were sucked in. As a big fan of this line by Asmus I’ve been pretty disappointed that they didn’t follow through on this. If you’re not going to do something don’t say that you are. Pertaining more to your question. The last I heard they are working on a GTG slim. I also wouldn’t doubt that they would do do a box release of GTG from LOTR.
