A lot of people don’t collect 1/4 scale figures. Those that do actually delve into it can probably just as easily manage a statue collection. Personally, I can’t do either. I collect too many varying properties to even think about a scale larger than 1/6th.

Neca could avoid a whole lot of headache if they moved operations out of the country. Might create different issues down the road, but hey... at least they would be able to put out a decent amount of figures without being grabbed by the balls.

:exactly I can’t invest in 1/4 . price and space , I know it’s a cliche, but it’s the hard truth :slap

I wanted to get the 1/4 WW , but what I’ve seen so far of the final product..think I might have to pass

If HT was just $100-$200 cheaper I would love to grow that collection

Yeah all 3 days I tried to get the regular set but the store kept freezing. I had no luck but congrats to all who got them.

Considering TRUs going out and Neca’s problems with Turtles because of lame Playmates , I’d say if you can go to SDCC or know someone who’s going . See if they can pick you up the set.

This might become a rare collectible that might never come around for a while

Which is the infuriating part.

Neca lost with TRU closures. They have no motivation to push out product at this point.

Hopefully at SDCC, they tell us that they have a plan to market elsewhere
Randy said on Twitter a few weeks back that they have worked something out and we'll know soon. Bigger and better than TRU according to him.

Funny, back in 1991 or 92, I remember going to the mall with dad and making a last minute visit to a toy store, probably KB Toys. I vividly remember seeing the movie turtles in their boxes. They looked so real and the details were mind blowing, of course I must have been around 9 or 10 years old at the time, but from the point of view of a child and compared to the regular TMNT toys, those figures looked lifelike with the brown belts, skin texture, and spots. That day, my dad for no particular reason said, "Pick a toy." It wasn't my birthday or Christmas, so I wasn't expecting it, but for some reason and in retrospect I regret it, I didn't pick one of the "movie star" turtles. Maybe they looked too real or creepy, but for whatever reason I picked Fugitoid, a gold robot with red guns and removable chest piece. I remember being happy with my choice, but in retrospect I have no idea why I skipped that movie turtle? It's the only thing I remember about that day, besides playing with my brand new robot toy when I got home. What a weirdo that kid. :lol

If it’s Walmart... nothing changes in this area. :lol

I’d like to know what other retailer would even bother picking up collector figures now, besides Target? And that’s still kind of iffy, isn’t it?

Becuase they are payong lots of money to make figures in that size. And you could say they are being fairly loose since if Playmates wanted they could have said no to these being relased like whats happening with the DC and Marvel figures. Its sucks but Playmates isnt really the villain here.

Nah they most definitely are. They know they suck at making adult figures for collectors. They just want to have some control and say. If I recall when neca made those mirage turtles, playmates stepped in and tried and looked atrocious. They know what they are doing. Just greedy business.

Barnes and Noble all I can think of

God I hate my Walmarts, and it better not be Walgreens either because my WG suck in my area :pfft:

For god’s sake NECA..Target ..the only choice

If collectors can get Aliens, SW, ML and transformers all in one visit on sale ..makes sense right?

I remember getting my first turtle figures. Playmates had just started the franchise and it debut on the grand opening of the TRU in my area ( man do I feel old ) so they were the original set of turtles with the blue colored swords for Leo. Back when Playmobile and Tonka were popular. But I remember seeing the first series on the racks and thought ..woah the turtle figures are awesome despite having no hip movement , ball hinge joints, etc :lol and selling at a retail price of $3.99-$4.99 per figure :lol

Blue swords? I've never heard of that. I've only seen the brown weapons.

Sadly not going to comic con and I know no one who is going so I'll just settle with the loss. The big 1/4 figures are still available i might just invest in those.

Be careful with the hip joints on the 1/4 versions. They’re made in such a way that they can snap a bit too easy.

there was a common advice of preheating them with a hair dryer. next time i repose mine i'll definitely use it.

I've already seen Kratos at Target. They've been gaming up the collector market with Pops hardcore the last two years, I could totally see why they would take on NECA happily.

I have kind of the same story as the ones above.
I was totally obsessed with the movie turtles because they had rubber arms and head. It was crazy I made sewer dioramas back when I was 11 years old out of cardboard boxes they were pretty damn awesome. Even though I no longer collect 7 inch scale figures these were a must have just because of much of a fan I was and still am. Time to make another diorama for the detolf Shelf

This set will mark the full set of turtles I’ve collected as a group of all four turtles since I collected a set of the original set of four by playmates back in the day. And. I do mean original, not the repainted or repackaged vintage turtles they did over the years . As I mostly would just collect different versions of Leonardo only over the years.

But I like all four versions of the original movie turtles, so I couldn’t pass this set up
