Action Figure Speculation - Deadpool 2 Hot Toys Figures

Just a theory, but I think one reason they only did DP from the first movie is because the level of badassery from other characters just wasn’t high enough to justify $200+ figures.

I'd say no-one really knew how the first Deadpool would go. Hot Toys included. So they kept it just to the main character. But now with the known success I'd also say that's also a good indicator for more than one figure as well.

For all they knew it was going to be another X-Men Origins flop for the character. I can’t blame them for not backing that horse.

Can’t wait to see the accessories (besides guns) Cable would come with! Hopefully they’d give him a teddy bear (sorry if that’s a spoiler)! Wouldn’t say no to a beer can either LOL

I was really hoping we would get another figure announcement this weekend.

Back in 2016, I remember coming home and immediately pre-ordering the Deadpool figure. The new figure is cool and all but doesn't have enough to warrant me buying another one that pretty much looks exactly the same. Had they thrown in an alternate unmasked headsculpt, they'd already have my $250+.

I think we're definitely getting Cable, which I will immediately pre-order. Still holding onto hope we get a Domino as well. Another day 1 pre-order for me.

As far as I’ve understood it, the X-Men franchise licenses don’t include the actors likenesses. As such, HT has only pursued Hugh Jackman’s likeness as Wolverine has always been a sure seller. An unmasked Deadpool head is an obvious choice. Nearly every Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, Batman, etc has come with unmasked heads. The fact this second Deadpool isn’t coming with one despite it being an obvious selling point on a second figure lends credence to likeness rights not being included.

If Deadpool isn’t coming with a Reynolds head, we won’t be seeing Cable at all. Deadpool is 99% sure to be it from this film.

You might be right, but I hope not. Plus I’ve heard sometimes it’s up to the individual actors whether they want their likeness on a figure or not. Clearly Josh Brolin is okay with it, so maybe it’ll workout like that.

I wouldn’t even go so far as to say Brolin is on board. Thanos is listed as:
“One (1) newly developed head sculpt with an authentic and detailed likeness of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War”

Nothing about Brolin in there. Plus I’ve seen pictures of Reynolds visiting HT for the first Deadpool. He seems on board yet no unmasked head then or now. Also the fact there is no trease of Cable in any of the Deadpool pics - something HT has been doing more and more lately in the full picture sets.

Not trying to be all doom and gloom as I’d love to get Cable too, but I’m just trying to remain realistic based on the current evidence and past experiences.

Well time will tell...course if HT doesn’t do him, I’m sure some other company will...HT DID announce as FIGURES as opposed to FIGURE, so maybe there’s hope, I can’t imagine any other characters being made...

That doesn’t mean there will be a bunch of figures. First, they released a dozen or so cosbabys so there’s the S. Also, they did the same thing for many licenses that got either nothing or one product. Like Batman returns.

Definitely the Teddy Bear ! Huge Gun, light up eye, basically anything he's wearing in the movie. The costume looks so good.

Nothing wrong with keeping hopes in check. If we DON’T get a Cable figure from HT I WILL be disappointed, however it won’t be the end of my world. Life will still go on...as far as any third party/unlicensed companies doing it, my first choice would probably be Toys Era...

That doesn’t mean much. By that logic, they also mention the kid and the X-Force. Pretty unlikely they’ll make all of them, too.
