that life size prop for 1974/1975 is so friggin amazing. thanks so much for posting that picture. he's so beautiful!

just about every single $money$ shot in the film where Bruce's head is visible on screen i can't see the scar. again, it's not that the scar was not on one of the sharks (This shark is inspired by the Left-sided Platform shark used primarily in the first half of the 3rd act from the film) i just want mine to look like as close as possible to the Bruce i've loved/feared the majority of my life.

i edited John's pictures on my computer and i've decided i'm going to go with the scar filled in by Mike and his crew. It's not that the scar is wrong it's just that i like it better without the scar. Now i've just got to decide on the gore and exact paint scheme. I'm leaning towards exactly like the one John reviewed. That bust is one of the most magnificent pieces i've laid eyes on in recent memory. I have a feeling i'm going to be floored by it's scale.

Yeah that photo is of the shark they used for Hooper's cage scene...

Congrats on getting the Bruce bust you want... In all honesty the scar is not that big an issue... Like I said... Sometimes you see it sometimes you don't... Either way I can't wait to get mine.. Look forward to pics of other peeps also... Colletorcol did you get your NTT yet??

I haven't ordered yet. I'm still deciding on what look i like best. The scar is an interesting topic. the majority of my life, i've watched Jaws on VHS, cable TV or DVD. I've only watch my beautifully restored JAWS BluRay a couple of times, what a fantastic transfer. I went through the Blu Ray watching like a hawk for scenes that showed the scar. There are only a handful of times when there is an opportunity to see the right side of Jaws's face clearly enough to see if the scar does exist.

after close review of the BluRay i do notice the scar when Bruce eats quint. I never, ever noticed this before. I credit the additional details to the Blu Ray and me viewing it on my 75" tv. below are two freeze frame shots i took of the BluRay with my iphone:

after seeing this in my living room first hand, i realized two things. First, is that the scar is accurate. Second, is that i think the scar as depicted on the bust is a hair too deep and prominent (this could however be an illusion caused by lighting) Now i have to decide if i want the scar (i believe, i do...but just not as pronounced).

Just send Mike those screen shots. I'm sure he'll do his best to replicate the scar as seen there.

Took me a week to decide what demarkation line to go with.

Man, that's a beautiful bust. I gotta find the space and the money for this. Pronto. Jaws is in my top three favorite movies of all time. (It rotates between Jaws, Raiders and the LOTR trilogy with the order shifting on any given day. And yes, I know that third one is kind of a cheat, but I consider it one gigantic movie.)

It's so hard to believe, but this summer will the the 40th anniversary of this movie being released. That's kind of mind blowing.

Now if only Universal and Spielberg would release the restored print for a theatrical run, my summer would be MADE.

Check your local listings!

Can.

Not.

Wait.

I've never seen this on the big screen before. REALLY hoping they use the new remastered, restored 4K version they made for the blu-ray.

Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women!

Thanks for this... I knew it was getting a limited release but it was not coming around to my local theater.. Did a search and it's at one 40 miles away. Will be the 4th time on the Big screen... 2x in 75 and 1x last year... Can't wait to see it again!

We went to see it but only front row left so are going to try and go Wednesday now.

Curious, did they use the last BluRay transfer?
