I like this statue but I can’t remember when in the movie the alien stayed in that pose..
Could you help me? Thanks!!

This is the scene, it stands in this position for a little while before bending upwards :

Looks 1/3 to me. If the Alien were standing straight up, it would be around half the height of the person. And since Aliens are 8-9 feet tall, half a human (~3 feet) would be proper 1/3 scale.

Id say its 1:4. I thought about saying that a few days ago. I wouldnt buy at all its " real " 1:3. Especially when you look how the coolprops Alien Queen is 1:3 and thats nearly the size of an adult human. Id buy it as 1:4.

The only way to be sure is to know the Head Length.

Thanks Alien! I need a col statue to acompany my alien bust;) hope to find one that fits in 60cm x50. Lol

Thanks Clutch but this picture in the nostromo corridor is a promotional one or it is from the movie? I can’t rememver and I have seen alien a thousen times lol. Even if it woldn’t be from the movie, I think it is the best pose for the big chap too. We couldn’t see the alien completely at the whole movie, except may be at the end in the space may be...really interesting then this figure and now, I need to kno size en prize..lol

Edit: that’s it Alien, in bret,s scene:) even if we can’t see that pose properly, here it is:). I put a link with all alien scenes from youtube. Hope it helps!

I love everything about this. As someone else said, even though I'm a rabid Alien fan, I hadn't noticed certain details of the suit that are present on this piece.

As for the 1:3 scale issue.. It does appear smaller than 1:3, more like 1:4, but, since its the 'stoop' pose, I can't tell for sure.

I'm pretty sure it was hanging for the chains in that scene, you can see it on some BTS shots. Incidentally, it was the stuntman playing the alien in that scene, not Bolaji.
I believe the pose is strictly from promotional material.

There was a famous stroy of using lower jaw of the deer to make the tip of the heel spike, but during the production of this piece, the creator/sculptor went for the original material, found out it was actually the upper jaw piece.

wow, i never knew that, thanks. i always thought they were just human teeth on a spikey thing, not a whole jaw of a deer.

right. the statues pose was just for the promo. Maybe the nearest to this in the movie is the standing up scene near parker. the brett scene looked this way:

alienbrettr.jpg

you can see it in the movie if you know where to look. the tail comes from above and the head follows. amazing scene I think and a little bit sad we cant see the full esthetic of it in the movie, even though its the best as it is for the whole dramaturgy.

You are right, big pieces can be a pain, that's why i never bought the Sideshow Space Jockey.

Well i Pre-Ordered the Coolprops Maquette, NRD was 150 USD.

During a sideshow chat today i was told ordering at the beginning has no benefits!
If someone orders at the beginning or 9 months later, both orders are treated the same which means the person ordering 9 months later could still get a statue with a lower edition start number than the person who ordered at the beginning. There is no order of despatch either, i always thought people who ordered at the beginning would receive items first but i was wrong.

The only benefit is you at least get your name down on the item and it's reserved for you.

ALIEN.

Thanks for posting. Nice start on the bust, I'm guessing it's still very much wip. I still like that statue, but still wouldn't buy it unless it's very affordable.

First non custom Alien sculpt I've seen that includes the logos and markings from the pumps and plumbing tools used in making the suit! Insanely accurate. I think I prefer this to coolprop's BC, it somehow feels more detailed. Love the pose too. It's certainly a good time to be an Alien fan!

hmmm, I don't think that pose translates well with such a big statue. If I'm going to spend ~$1500-2000 for a statue, I need to be able to see everything. The head is what made the creature terrifying and your stuck looking at an Alien that may have just finished running a marathon.
