Well, yesterday I received my annual bonus at work, and with my $43 in reward points, I finally was able to order this wonderful figure today, and hopefully I'll have him in hand by this time next week. I've enjoyed seeing everyone's photos and I've been dying to be able to get this figure for myself, especially having had to sell off the original Sideshow figure, the PF and the 1:1 bust, the best Maul I own right now is the Applause 14", but this looks like living, breathing Maul in all the glory I love about the character, and will replace the void left by those I had to sell off.

Nice, looking forward to your shots!
Didn't you have the medicom Maul as well at some point?

I did, overall my favorite 1/6 Maul, though flawed. This was my Maul collection one, minus the Medicom, circumstances forced me to part with most, though I still have the very first Hasbro 12" and the 1/6 scale Sith Speeder so that adds to this Maul, plus some accessories left over from Sideshow Maul.

Agreed, that is an impressive Maul collection. With all the spin offs that are coming out like the Obi Wan Solo Movie. I think it would be freaking awesome if they did one for Maul!!! Let us see where he came from, his training and rise to the Sith.

Great Maul collection!

Where did you order this guy from? I'm having trouble finding him under 240.

Sideshow, I have no problem with the price, it was just getting the funds, but, I had $43 in Sideshow rewards that have been sitting in my account since 2012 so if ever a time use them, this was it, brought it down to $197.

Agreed. I would definitely go see that. Ray Park could totally make it legit. Probably the next to worst thing in TPM, Jar Jar being THE worst, is the waste of an awesome character like Maul. Had so much potential.

You guys definitly need to watch The Clone Wars Animated Series and Star Wars Rebels. His complete story arc is in there, till far after The Phantom Menace ;)

I’ve seen both of those and like them a lot but I’d rather have a full length feature film on him.

You sir, have clearly earned the name Maulfan. :bow

Are the Darth Maul shampoo toppers mixed in there?

They are not.

Well, he has finally arrived, and boy does he not disappoint. To my relief, no QC issues, and I'm just stunned by this figure, this IS Darth Maul, and the overall figure is easily on par with Hot Toys level, doesn't feel like a Sideshow figure at all, they did a great job. It was weird opening a Sideshow package again, haven't bought one of their pieces in years, it was like a snap back in time, the plastic wrap around the figure box inside the shipper, the tabs on the box, owned many Sideshow figures back in the day.

I'm working from home so no time for proper photos, but I couldn't keep from taking a few quick ones.

And for nostalgia, my first 12" Maul with my latest, and likely last.

:rotfl ... Man, that Hasbro was great in it's day!! I still have it too, the one that came with the speeder & the one that seperates in half that came with Vader, and I think some deluxe one? All in a box somewhere..

I want this too, but I know HT will make one so I'm still holding out since I'm sure HT will have the outer cloak. I still have the 1st SS Maul too. If I do get this, I'd use the cloak on this new one.

Hasbro made 4 1/6 Maul figures in total.

I had all but the electronic one, didn’t like the look of it, particularly the mix of sculpt upper half and soft goods lower half.

Maul has joined the rest of my 1:6 friends at work.

Regarding the discussion of Sideshow vs Hot Toys, whenever it's said Sideshow has nailed a figure and HT doesn't have much room to top it, we get surprised with something like Emperor Palpatine which reveals the room for growth Sideshow had.

Right away, I can already see areas where I'm sure HT will top this already amazing figure, the question for those already owning this will be, how much is that difference worth.

While I love the portrait on this figure, in the right lighting, seam lines really show and it's pretty ugly and "cheapens" a very lifelike portrait making it an obvious "toy". I'm sure HT will manage to produce heads without any seam or at the least, a much less pronounced one.

I also see HT going with fabric choices that more closely match the film costume, but also carry the bulk and weight to have it fall on the figure, probably even wire the opening of his robes to mold them hanging over his belt and all, probably make the pants a little baggier as well.

While HT COULD potentially get more detailed with the eye paint work, based on the Emperor, I doubt they'd offer much better than Sideshow delivered.

I do imagine that HT will go for a snarling, teeth showing face to set themselves apart from Sideshow further, though I'm happy with the expression Sideshow chose. While Maul has snarling moments, one aspect I love about the character is how expressionless he looks so often, and his eyes just give off this burning hate gaze that says so much and the Sideshow head nails that.

Just sharing my two cents on that topic, but that's not to take away from the impressive work that has been done on this figure. I was looking over some pics of the old Sideshow figure and as much as that figure felt like a huge improvement over Hasbro in it's time, it really doesn't hold up over time, tiny waist, overly bulky looking upper body with the fabric of his costume, just doesn't capture the Maul silhouette, whereas this one does, for the most part it's like looking at Ray Park in costume. I love that they went with the more pale shade of red, while Maul did look almost cherry red in some shots, similar to the original figure, I think in figure form it comes off very much like a toy where this looks more like a human in face paint.
