They still have Pretorious on their site. Dr. Frankenstein and Ygor are hard to come by. Good luck. They fit in great with Sideshow's stock.

You cannot beat the price and looks great. I think i'm going to go with the Black and White version of Caradine Dracula. Been wanting a Caradine version for the longest time.

Selling my Phantom of the Opera Pf...pm me if interested .
No box and one finger glued (not really noticeable)
Really good price.

Not the best photos but really enjoying these classic Universal monster PF's...

we really need some accurate 1/4 scale classics. I can't believe there isn't anything out there besides customs. Rick Baker used his 3D printer to make the most bad ass Frank statue ever, so why is it so hard for a company to do the same?

I see nothing wrong with the Sideshow pieces and many model makers out there producing 1/4 kits you can buy and get professionally painted. Sideshow stuff still holds up in my opinion and agree with Anton. Mike's Wolf Man is stunning.

I think they all look dated as hell, but that's me. Only the old 1:1 busts hold up to me. The mummy pf isn't bad, but the sarcophagus steals the show with that one.

Forgot to post here about this unless some knew but Mondo put up for sale today there first wave of Universal Monsters Classics from there exhibit. I was able to score a Phantom City Creative Dracula print. Placed my order within the first minute it went up. My first Mondo print and I am totally pumped! It's a real beauty. Anyone else know about it and score anything? If not there is another bunch coming soon. Not sure the date for the next wave but there's more.

Dated? Sorry....not seeing it. Dated as compared to the ad nauseam releases of superheroes and Star Wars with all the constant "improvements"....? Perhaps. Just like Aurora models, Azrak Hamway figures. Marx mechanicals, etc......they become classics. Not some dated things to be closeted or placed in a landfill for "newer" releases however. I like to think of them more like automobiles. They may not have all the bells and whistles of newer vehicles. But I will take a 1968 Mustang or a 1957 Chevy anyday as opposed to a friggin Chevy Spark, lol.

Sideshow's offerings are still the best press Universal Monsters have gotten in ages in the realm of licensed items.

Highly agree with you Anton. Too add more to the thread I just made a quick video finally on a small 1/4 bust I got in last year. Dracula 1931 Bela Lugosi 1/4 Scale Bust Sculpted by Jeff Yagher and Painted by Alvarez Arts. Enjoy!

It would so nice if SS gave these classics some new attention with updated PF's and busts but I thing that shipped has sailed...so to speak. SS is too busy pumping out endless versions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Spider-man, Wolverine, and Hulk. Even Red Sojna is on a third version with them...I guess that's were they make their money.

I don't really see the comparison from classic cars to classic statues...... Sculpting has gotten more crisp and more accurate to what is seen in movie characters, material is greatly improved (translucent resin) and tailoring is miles better. They don't need bells and whistles, but it would be easy to improve on those old releases. Saying Sideshow is the best isn't saying much when there is almost nothing out there to compare them to. CM did the 1:3 creature, which is better than the SS version to me, but that's really the only other piece that has been made that I can think of.

maybe it has sailed, but there are tons of statue companies out there now. I think a company like Prime would put out some amazing stuff if they could get the license.

I have been collecting this stuff for 30 years. Before Sideshow came into being, everything was just...well, a toy. Except for the unlicensed garage kits, which were arguably responsible for/the reason the collectibles market exists as it does today. But I digress. Almost everything was a toy aimed for kids before SSC came along. Not really anything collectible for grown ups. These Sideshow pieces were groundbreaking, and still look nice. Before Sideshow there was nothing of this caliber. I will take Sideshow's $350 Wolfman pf over the 2500.00 Creature Cinemaquette simply because I am (relatively speaking) sane and cannot see paying that much for something that I cannot eat, drive or sleep in,lol.

Could they make better items with all the quality changes you mentioned....possibly. Almost assuredly. Will they be as well received? Possibly not. Mezco's 1:12 Frankenstein is a great relatively affordable figure. it underperformed. I am afraid that Sideshow's offerings are gonna hold the crown for awhile to come yet. If anything comes along that's cool....I will still hang on to my "dated" Sideshows. They're classics. Before Sideshow there was nothing out there for Werewolf of London, and other obscure Universal characters. They went so far not only to give us Bela Lugosi as Dracula, but White Zombie, and even Bela the Gypsy from the Wolfman. They're classics any way you slice it. especially if you've been collecting for decades like old farts like me have and seen a lot of stuff that isn't anywhere near the level of quality SSC gave us.

Since i'm guessing most of you don't follow Mondo and i forgot to post last time but second round of the Universal Monster Prints will be available at a random time tomorrow so be on the lookout. Here's the article and prints that will be going up tomorrow. Good luck! I'll be trying to get another print.
