Apparently they've already got prototypes on display at Tokyo Comic Con. Not the most flattering photos and it looks like they're using a Red Skull head as a stand-in, but we're one step closer. Reeves head is excellent. Hope the preorder comes soon.

Unless the lighting is really throwing it off I'm pretty sure that's not the Red Skull head...or at least not the one that came with mine...

Looks like it to me. Definitely a different hairdo than what Smith sports in the film.

I don't collect 1/6, and I can't say this makes me reconsider.

Neo doesn't look too bad, I guess.

Re: Hot Toys Acquires The Matrix License

Wasn't expecting to see prototypes so soon. Glad to see these are coming. The look great, but the faces could use some work. Neo looks pretty good, but hopefully they will improve on it some. I would really like to see Agent Smith come with an expression with a tinge of disgust. His expression seems too neutral.

Hopefully they will at least get to Trinity and Morpheus.

Re: Hot Toys The Matrix 1/6 scale figures

The weird timing of this makes me wonder if they got the license off Warner Bros as a mea culpa for all the R+D costs they sunk into those Justice League figures that are likely going to shelfwarm until the heat death of the universe...

Re: Hot Toys Acquires The Matrix License

Never understood why people judge so harshly based on crap quality pictures of early prototypes :lol

Looking forward to seeing clearer/official pics.

Neither figure looks good, but that's ok because they just wanted to display something...anything. Agent Smith has a Nazi hair style, wrong glasses, inaccurate black suit(suit was more grey in the first film). Neo's head looks a bit big and the body looks small.

As much as I like and prefer the first Matrix over the sequel, I think Neo looks cooler with his sequel outfit. :chase

Re: Hot Toys Acquires The Matrix License

Clearly these are very early prototypes--that's definitely a Red Skull head--you can tell from the haircut.

I'll almost certainly buy both. The only thing that might change that is if Reloaded versions come out. Although Reloaded was an inferior film, the looks for Neo and Smith are more appealing to me. That would be a tough call.

I don't see them doing two Smiths, but two Neos is a possibility. They could also include both outfits with a single release, which might actually be more likely; doubt Hot Toys would milk a license this old by doing multiple figures of the same character (aside from OG Star Wars).

Yeah I feel the same way. Especially after Neo's black trenchcoat look kinda got co-opted by so many teenage loner goth types in the 2000s.

Plus his Reloaded outfit was just a whole lot more unique looking.

I agree, this Neo is best Neo.

The grander gesture would've been Blade Runner, but this is still pretty unexpected. Nearly spat out my drink when I saw the announcement. I'd gotten pretty used to the idea that it would never happen.

Interesting, not sure about the likenesses just yet but I'll buy Neo and Smith for sure, hope to see Morpheus soon after

oh and Neo has a flight stand, wonder if we'll get bullet time accessories!?
