There are quite a few Amazon shows that are in their 3 and 4th seasons, so someone must be watching them.

Yeah, a bunch of weenies

I'm sure this show is a huge priority for Amazon, just acquiring the rights cost them as much or more than a major studio release. I doubt they would blow a 1/4 billion on a property and not give it the white glove treatment. This is likely seen as their declaration that they are just as legitimate a entity as HBO and Netflix.

I'd be surprised if it was anything but a stellar effort.

lets hope so. I dont want this to fail and i would love a great show and i would love something that takes my mind out of how horrible and awful the last hobbit was, but I cant have any hope until we hear casting, until then i cannot let myself have any hype for it

Casting will definitely be a trick, equally as important will be who writes it and Directs. I know Jackson won't do it, but I would love if he and Boyens took a crack at the writing.

Will watch only if there's enough black actors.

hopefully the entire first season is how they found this other colony of elves that never showed up before. thats what i want :) (as well as visiting different shires where other kinds of hobbits live) this needs to be woke if im gonna watch

Isn't 11 hours worth of Middle Earth enough entertainment for someone? It's never going to be as great as those Lord of the Rings films were. Some people are so moronic.

Sad to see Tolkien's son resign as the director of the estate. Let the Disneyfication of LOTR begin!
