Is this supposed to be 100% Felicity though..it’s a figure of Felicity playing the role of Jyn Erso, for all the doubters, need to remember these aren’t made to be a miniature portrayal of the actress. It’s a 1/6 scale figure of the character of the film. :lecture

I think this is the best Jyn figure I’ve seen thus far

I remember seeing one that was substantially better, to my eyes, the prototype.

I understand your point. It IS the best Jyn Erso figure out there for sure.

Some of us fell in love with Felicity's appearance as much as we liked the character, I guess.

Still, its like 90% Felicity, and I'm not complaining!

I've never really understood that argument myself. It's true that we often have to make do with sculpts that aren't 100% accurate, but for me the goal is still to have something that captures what that actor actually looks like on screen. Since they are the ones who make those characters so memorable, more than whatever costume they're wearing.

And this is one case where I definitely would have wanted more than just a generic pretty face.

I agree. I MUCH more prefer the production to the proto sculpt. Its the main reason that I initially went with the Disguise version, as the sculpt previewed was closer, if not the production version.

I just received the Disguise version and the sculpt is beautiful. It is Jyn, no doubt for me.

.... ??? These ARE made to be a miniature portrayal of the actress/actor playing the character. The whole point of what Hot Toys does is to make figures that are based on the actors' likeness. This is supposed to look like Felicity Jones as Jyn, and it doesn't.

Most HT sculpts are very much idealized, stylized versions of the character and will never be 100%...and maybe i'm in the minority but i see more Ms Jones in the production sculpt than the original proto..View attachment 373258

The production does seem to work fairly well in closeup like that... but from a distance it suddenly stops looking like Felicity to me. Not really sure why, but it wouldn't be the first sculpt to do that.

That's like saying a pic of you wearing an unusual set of clothing with your hair styled slightly differently shouldn't look like you.

To a reasonable degree.

How much is reasonable? 50%? 80? 90?

Those with the product in hand have said they'd give a 9 (out of 10) to the likeness. That's very good, isn't it?

I’m in the minority but I like the sculpt. I think it has a good likeness to Felicity, even though it’s not 100%. Most sculpts aren’t though, so I guess I’m used to it. It doesn’t bother me at all on display.

I feel the same way. It's a very good sculpt just not exactly looking like who it's supposed to. HT's Leia for example I'd say is perfection, that's an A+. I'd still give HT's Jyn a solid A-.

So a 9/10 then. I actually gave ANH Leia the 9/10 and I think this was an 8.5/10. To me, anything in 1/6 scale that is an 8/10 or better is a good likeness in my opinion.

Wait are we actually comparing a photo someone personally took to a picture that has gone through studio processing? daz bonkers!

I agree with Michael Crawford's opinion that ratings need to be a little ambiguous becuase when you get into more specific larger numbers it becomes ridiculous. In the 10 scale I'd definitely give Leia a 10 and Jyn an 8. out of a 1000, I'd have to go with Leia at an 948 and Jyn at a 862. :p

In Crawford's 5 star rating system (no decimals, that's cheating!), it's obvious that you and I both would give Leia and Jyn a 5, that makes both good likenesses.
