Some comparisons:
*Edit* found a better pic of Resistance outfit Rey with less distortion. Did resistance Rey and scavenger Rey have the same head sculpt?
Keep in mind it is almost impossible to find two pics that were shot with the same focal length so there is going to be some distortion here.
As for the TLJ Rey there is some asymmetry on Daisy's face, which HT almost gets right. Think the proportions are better on the TLJ. They can't seem to get her brows right though, or the eyes.

I do like the shape of and the eyes on TFA sculpt better.
Ehhhh, the part that pic doesn't show is the TLJ sculpt's odd width and length, especially in the lower part of the face. If you just compare the sculpt and an actual pic of her, it's obvious the jaw is wayyyy too "strong" and her mouth looks more like MJ or something. The face shape to me is just off, TFA was much closer to Daisy's head. I don't dig the eyes on the TLJ either.
TBH if the TFA sculpt just had the TLJ expression, it'd likely be much closer to Daisy than the TLJ one.

Well, in less than two months the movie will come out, so the first week of that will be people bragging about having seen it. People saying how awful it was and blaming Disney, and people begging for no spoilers.
Then, other stuff like the meaning of life, what is right and wrong, the next terrorist attack, the next joke on Trump...
Then some convention will display a more recent prototype and new comparisons will arise...
And so on...

I really like the new sculpt. It is a vast improvement in likeness. Nothing is perfect, but honestly, the top one looks NOTHING like Daisy Ridley or Rey.

Neither really look like her... but the bottom one is a better sculpt overall of someone.
The new one definitely looks more like daisy but waiting for eps 9 for that perfect headsculpt (hopefully) and hopefully her eps 9 costume will be much better.
Not that into this jedi training costume.

Eh. I wouldn't say neither look nothing like her.
Personally, I think TFA sculpt looks more like its actual counterpart in that comparison photo than what TLJ sculpt does. In TLJ sculpt, the eye area is totally off whereas the eye area in TFA is only slightly off.
Some of us will be enjoying the release of a sci fi film we look forward to with our family.
A nice discussion with friends about the plot and how good the film is.
We will ignore the constant bad news from some other part of the world that has little impact on our local community.
We will ignore politics because again, we are not in charge and never will be.
And we will wait on another prototype for the hobby we love and that keeps us smiling..
It is all about perspective.

This is pretty much how I feel. Leading up to Dec 14, I'm marathoning the entire 8 film saga. Then I'm seeing it opening night on Thursday, prob one more time that weekend, and then I'll be coming back to the hobby that makes me happy. Perhaps after seeing it, I'll be putting an order in for a figure. It's easier going day in and day out when you don't look toward positive things in your life instead of the negativity that persists everywhere you turn.
That's not to say ignore the world, but you can't put an entire planet's problems on your back and champion every cause. It will swallow you whole.

Does the nameplate on this figure being different than the other TLJ figures bother anyone else @_@
I get a Famke Janssen vibe from the TLJ Rey sculpt.
Will have to see it in-hand but I still prefer the TFA Rey sculpt. I think it's due to the eyes.

90% of what I say will still be true.....if TLJ sucks ...oh well....still will have a great time making it an event night....
Just wondering what people who do not like the new SW would have preferred to what we are getting? I mean its all well and god to complain about others efforts, but if you have not ideas yourself....maybe you shouldn't complain so loudly...
So lets hear your SW story? I have a great script in my head for TLJ....I am sure I got it all wrong compares to what DIS has in mind..
