For the record; Collect what you like and enjoy your collection and if other collectors admire/appreciate yours then that's a bonus.

Also all the "Ex or Fail" stuff back in the day was all good natured fun. No one took it seriously. I know I, and a few other Freaks, didn't.

I don't collect any of these guys but I did order the Carnage Ex just because it was there when I ordered. I will not likely have the axe hand displayed but many may ask wtf would you order the SS Caranage and the answer is simple. I know who he is but as I said I don't collect this type but when it came out I just thought it was incredible looking and the pose is ferocious to me. I read all the threads about howother brands were so far superior looking but I'm just not feeling them but this one I found myself looking at it everyday and I had to have it. Maybe not on a steeple but for me personally looking like he's about to rip someone in 1/2.

The point is simple and easy to get. You get what you like or you will have a wall full of someone else's favorite pieces.

Most do go about it like that and when I started I didn't but in the end I never actually bought something I didn't want.

This statue here the Thanos stratus. What had me wanting it was not even his portraits. Honestly I'm happy not to care about them. I do think the eyes are neat in the EX but I prefer the regular versions helmet. If I could have the blue eyes in the ref portrait I'd be happy. Not liking the dinosaur look to his grinning portrait.

So the reason I want it drum roll... the throne. The throne is the big catch for me and too bad all the detail on the back is out of view most of the time. I had no reason to PO the EX because of what I mentioned above. I'd hate to think my very nice collection is junk without a Dino-Grin for my Thanos if I even buy it lol.

If I was going to PO and a huge fan of course you go for the EX on this piece and even casual fans looking to sell it later. I know I'm happy to display the pissed off face he'd likely have making the come here motion. He's about to give a prostate massage with that finger lmao

Yeah, that's what did it for me. No way I'm spending $1200 + shipping for the MAQ. Just not worth the price IMO.

I hate resellers, I understand if someone comes into a situation where they need to sell a piece or their entire collection. Then there are the people that straight up buy them to flip them, I always think that somewhere there is an avid collector who missed out on it because this person got it. Grinds my gears as the great ol' Peeta Griffin would say

I feel the same way. Thanos on Throne and the avengers assemble are the first in my collection. I hate the Lego resellers too. It's ridiculous.

I don't give two craps about "exclusivity" I just want the ex version cuz that grin looks good. I actually plan to make a pedestal and embed motorized turntables into it to display at least my CE one. If I by chance get an EX I'll make the pedestal for two.

IMO there's a difference between resellers (A collector; Sells to make room or needs the money) and flippers (Not really a collector; Sells to only make money and take advantage of demand).

Flippers are everywhere in every sector. Wether it's collecting statues or buying gaming machines. They are there to make a profit and only sensible people will realise it's not worth buying it for the prices they charge considering it's like fresh and not been around for centuries.

Microsoft release project Scorpio and it sells out. The only difference between that and the original is branding and a plastic stand which is useless yet flippers jump in because they can sell it as rare.

This Thanos was a very big deal for a lot of collectors. I just don't think the grin face should have been an exclusive. But it is what it is. I just hope people don't pay silly prices for something like a grinning head!
