So, how do you guys think they'll continue the story?

Is it wrong that I'd almost like to see Cornelius go the way of Koba;
Spoiler Spoiler:

I would be very happy with that concept :rock

It should end with this one

Really? I don't see why we can't have a reboot of the original franchise, continuing the excellence of the three prequels. In an ideal world, Reeves would sign on to take it forward.

I always thought it'd be kind of a neat twist if all of these films were "prehistoric" in a paradoxical sense. The Apes evolve to the point where they create a virus that wipes out their society and puts the primal humans on the path to self-awareness, millions of years pass, their structures crumble, people rebuild society as it is, and the whole thing kicks into overdrive.

The idea being that there are certain limitations no species can circumvent and that attempting to do so, inevitably, leads down the path of destruction.

i can see it now, "man flu wipes out the apes" :lol
i still want to see how modern ape fares in that future...

or a spinoff,
Rise-of-the-Planet-of-the-Apes-James-Franco.jpg

franco went off world terraforming another world. he quit his job after Rise, he went with Weyland-Yutani....we know how that ended.lolz

There's another twist! What if they evolve over millions of years to look exactly like us? Meanwhile, the humans devolve into primitive apes as it's just like "daaaaamn." What if the Apes from the original were only like halfway to their evolutionary peak, when they'd just look like regular folks? The more I read these ideas, the more terrible I think they are, and the more I think that this reads like "Planet of the Apes: a film by M. Night Shyamalan." :lol

oh man, the spin off involving skynet would be awesome.

terminator: ape-pokalypse

ape on the outside, machine inside.

Spoiler Spoiler:

They could potentially make a new trilogy with Cornelius as the focal point.

After that we could then see a remake of the original.

Sad to see this movie just disappear like that. I've just watched it again today and it's even better on second viewing.

Damn, sad to see this underperform. I mean I was sure that it would at least do the same as Dawn. Who could watch that movie and not go watch this one? It was fantastic. And this has been very well reviewed.

Saw this last night. Excellent film. It was a pretty emotional film. One of the best films of the year. Apes together are strong indeed.

Question, does anyone know who or what those figures were at the end of film?

Best Film Ive seen all year so far! I was all Emotional when movie was over.:monkey2 They Even Had Some Jimi music on The Soundtrack!:lol

I have to agree. It's a somewhat 'slower' film than Dawn in a way, but I don't see that as a negative as it's emotional as hell and more character focused than the previous two. A stunning conclusion to an amazing trilogy that cements itself as one of the best of all time in my book. :monkey2

It's funny because my mum is a huge Jimmy fan (she saw him live when he was over here in the UK in the sixties) and the track that played (Hey Joe?) is her favourite song of all time.

This movie was more like Discussion of the Planet of the Apes than a War.

And yet movies like Furious 8, which consist of bad storytelling and acting, make $1.5. Yet this movie (which was thought out and developed) underperforms. Just goes to show how low the human race can be :lol

Idiocracy told the future.
