Anyone seeing any original Empire Emperor in this sculpt [emoji13] just kidding!

Yeah I'm pretty underwhelmed by the sculpt so far. This is a difficult sculpt to do I have no doubt about that. The Emperor looks quite different scene to scene and the makeup is very detailed. But to me they don't capture any of the Return of the Jedi Emperor in this sculpt.

But the Royal Guards likeness...spot on.

That's an interesting idea. Wasn't seeing too much ROTS myself but it definitely looks a bit off for Jedi.

One question : If EA can do it, why can't Hot Toys ? Let's hope there are some small tweaks to get that top lip etc right...

Yeah this sculpt reminds me nothing of Palpatine. Really hope HT tweaks it (and I'm pretty sure they will) because I would really like to get this one.

I think some folks are being a bit harsh but I would like to see it reworked to look more like the final duel scene in ROTJ. I imagine 95% or higher want to display this with the upcoming Luke.

Yeah, this would be a smart move. I can just picture a lot of folks saying they're not buying unless they know for sure the Emperor is going up for PO.

This is inferior to the Sideshow exclusive head. That what was one strong expression; HT seem to be trying to pack everything into one head, neutral, smiling and grimacing all at once, and it doesn't work.

Plus, the old, old story... the features are too heroic. Ian McDiarmid never had cheekbones or a jaw like that in his life.

This could be the next DX release if they include his cane, chair, force lightning, Luke's saber hilt, and multiple heads.

I'm still hoping we do get the neutral face which was teased in the ROTJ Luke promo pics. Really I hope we got enough with this release (including a good head sculpt or 2) as they will probably never revisit the Emperor again. The chair, one of those optional backdrops with the Death Star 2 tower, Force lightning, cane, Luke's sabre hilt. I don't know if DX is solely with Rolling eyes or PERS, but I hope this is a DX package.
