I'm not a fan of the SS Palps sculpt like MF is. I consider it only passable under certain lighting conditions and needs a repaint at the very least. That being said, you can get a decent looking Emperor from the SS version with a new body.

Mine is on a $15 Slim knockoff with a Hasbro cane. I've got two very nice custom sculpts on the way that should make this give HT a run for their money.

I love(d) this figure, but you're right, the SSC body on him was truly horrendous and the way too short cane was a big disappointment too.

I just hope the HT version comes with force lightning and an alt headsculpt or IFT like DX Jack Sparrow.

The SSC body was one of the worst articulated bodies ever designed.

Literally ruined the G.I.Joe franchise..HT should've done Joes but they chose the movie line

That sums up the SS version. Good for it's time but even then had flaws. Floppy body, short cane that can't reach the floor, nice sculpts but extremely dated paint jobs.

I think this will be a vast improvement on every level. I'm sure there are extras not pictured too, like lightning effects

I'm guessing there is still some work to be done on him... but they wanted to just give us a glimpse of what's to come. I have a feeling that chair will be an expensive item... probably double the cost of the figure. But, both will be mine.

IDK I think they might offer this in a reasonable package. SS's was $140 7 years ago. It probably won't be polystone but I bet HT's will be cheaper than that

Yeah, they look to be totally white.

well it does as I swapped out that crappy ss body for tt18 nock off.

How strange to put a figure like this on display at SDCC and not go to the trouble of painting the eyes. I guess it could have been a really early sample that HT sent SS.
