Honestly I don't think 1/4th is really their focus. If you notice they seem pretty selective about what they release in the scale. They've only done like six total quarter scale figures and half of those are Iron Man figures (surprise surprise).

Good to see some positive news for Batman Returns Catwoman and Penguin.
Sad to see a question slot was wasted asking another Heath Ledger Joker. Just let to poor guy rest in peace. Such an over hyped movie and character.

What other collectibles company shows this many products that they never produce???:dunno

And I'm not talking about someone like Popculture Shock. I'm talking about industry leader level like Hot Toys.

Again, if your goal is to prevent fanboy fury like some of you are saying, seems like a funny way to go about it. :ohbfrank:

And it doesn't help that most of the placards at the cons read Release Date/Price: TBD

Bottom line, you can't trust Hot Toys. They've never been the type of company that will finish lines. They make a few figures from a particular movie and that's that. And it doesn't matter if the movie is a hit or a flop, they follow the same pattern. From Watchman to Rogue One. They spitball a group of characters and move on.

It's really quite strange knowing that most collectors/collections revolve around sets and completing sets. Hot Toys does just the opposite. They make partial sets. I can think of only one set they completed, Avengers. Even Avengers AoU never saw the release of the Ultron drone. And this is precisely why I haven't ordered any of the GotG2 stuff. I don't think HTs will properly produce the "set". That would include Quill, Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Drax, Yondu, Mantis and Nebula. That's to say nothing about the antagonist of the movie...which I bet dollars to donuts they will absolutely not do.

While that is fair enough about the likes of Rhino - why the hell did they cancel the 1:4 scale Police Station Assault T-800? That would have sold very well I'd wager.

Because Enterbay folded first and Howards hard on went limp. :dunno

Besides 1/6 > 1/4

I love the Nolan Batman films but I have to say I don't understand why a new Ledger Joker question seems to get asked in all these interviews. It's not like there's been a shortage of figures of the character. Sure the only way to get one currently is through the secondary market but is there still that much demand for the character that it warrants another release?

Its only naturally that HT would want to capitalize on all the big boy license when the opportunity is there. For example who today is going to go and purchase the first THOR figure? Nobody. HT doesn’t care because they made their money for THOR back then. So naturally HT will want their money from Rogue One, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman etc. today. However I think it might be a great idea if HT created “Nostalgic” line where they announce maybe two to four nostalgic characters (i.e.. Ripley or Penguin) and promise that they would be released within that year. This way with the hoard of new license we collectors can be assured that what they announce in their "“Nostalgic” will be revealed, preordered and in our hands within a year. I would prefer this method than announcing all this new and upcoming license in their catalog that never see the light!

Sideshow haven't been too good about it either. Didn't they have a whole plan for Tron legacy statues and items and all they did was a Rinzler with a pose a lot of people hated?
Then there was the Cortana statue that never made it to production.

Of course Hot Toys also had the Tron licence and they didn't do a Quora either!

Not that i admire him or anything but Howard Chan really has it great. Super rich and he gets to keep all the best figures even the prototypes the rest of us only ever see!

Just read this and actually really surprised he seems keen to do characters from the prequels, especially Anakin. If they do end up making Anakin and Obi One from the CW or Prequel era along with Maul, Grievous, Padme and heck maybe even Jar Jar would be so cool :clap

I mean, the amount of mileage they could get out of Padme with her many ornate costumes and designs over the movies would be akin to a female Star Wars Iron Man licence to print money. The amount of detail they put into their costumes would make the detailing of the Padme designs really shine in a Hot Toys scale.

And if they did Spider Maul........

Forget it, HT is not making Prequel figures. Compared to the OT and new movies, the money isn't there.

Source says we will hear about a 1/4 heath joker this month. Take that with a grain of salt.
