Still holding out hope Disney will recut the prequels - extend Ewan and Natalie scenes, edit Anakin scenes to enhance, remove Jar Jar and add some realism to the cgi. Hoping.

It'll never ever happen, but I hope they'll just remake them, have Kasdan write and direct all 3. Start with anakin at 19, cover the mandalorian war, it's what I wanted in the first place.

Like it or not, they're episodes 1-3. Not going to be remade.

I like RotS, and the only good thing about 1-2 was just Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. The only purpose for the prequels was essentially to show Anakin's rise and descent to the Dark Side (similar to how Doomsday's only purpose as a villain is to kill Superman), which it did. RotS in my opinion is pretty much the only one you need to watch in order to get the gist of it, and you're good. I personally didn't need to see that he started out a slave; him as a decorated Jedi, friends with Obi-Wan and married to Padme was a good enough starting point for me.

They could have at least gotten a different actor though to portray Vader in his armor at the end.

No one will tackle the Prequels, at least not in our lifetimes. If we had more Vader and less Ani (and some other things made differently), there might have been a different opinion about Prequels. But, good or bad, Prequels are here to stay with us. Disney has a billion other stories to make, no need for them to remake something as of now.

I give it about 5 - 10 more years and the prequel nostalgia will hit big. Just waiting on the kids from that generation to have some disposable income.

I'd hope not. I think there's more people out there that like them than dislike them. You have a whole generation of kids that grew up with them and were exposed first to the prequels, and then second to the OT. People that don't like them are more vocal about it than those that do, and most are those that grew up during the time of the OT in the late 70's and 80's (like myself). My son grew up with the Clone Wars cartoon. For him that's the ****... His favorite character is Captain Rex. I took him to the EpI when they released it in 3D. His 1st big screen experience with Star Wars. He absolutely loves the Battle Droids and the Clones. As does most of his friends his age that are into Star Wars.

As far as I'm concerned there's more good than bad with the prequels. Especially the character designs (other than Jar Jar of course), ship designs and most visuals. A lot of it was bad acting more than bad plot points and maybe little fluff here and there. Visually there was absolutely nothing in TFA that was memorable for me... Nothing. Kylo Ren a bit, at least until he took his mask off. Not one ship/vehicle stands out at all. We got a slightly redesigned X-wing, for no real reason other than merchandising, and the Tie's were basically the same other than the Special Forces version adding a 2nd seat for 2 including a gunner. Kylo's ship was meh, the Troop Carrier was absolutely horrible, and nothing else comes to mind except the quad jumper which was blown up 1 second after seeing it.

I would love to see HT make characters from the prequels, and I'm sure MANY others would as well...

Let's not forget Natalie - a reputable actress in the early stage of her career - she did a great job given the circumstances.

:goodpost:

Like them or not, those are episodes 1-3 and likely will be for a long time to come. 1-2 are almost unwatchable for me, but I don't think they should be remade because of that.

I once read somewhere that when first introducing someone to SW, its best to show them at least ANH and ESB first, then continue on with the prequels and then RotJ and TFA. The reason being is because if they see the PT first, you won't get that "WHAAAAT??" reaction when Vader tells Luke he is his father. :lol

If you see the PT first, obviously your reaction will be "Yep, Luke. He is." :lol

This needs to be updated. Now they need to start with a doubleheader of Rogue One and Ep IV, since they connect perfectly, and show the true nature of Darth Vader's menace. How truly powerful and evil he is!

This. Yes.

Yeah definitely. Just look at Transformers Masterpieces. They are delving into Beast Wars now that kids from the 90's got money to spend.

I'm 34 and many people around my age who are casual fans just ride on the prequels over and over, despite the fact that they still don't get that they weren't the target audience at that time, and that they haven't even bothered to rewatch them, and just **** on them. I keep telling them how that is Star Wars to kids from the late 90's/early 2000's.

No, its never true. He's a liar. And a manipulator. That's true.

Shut your dirty mouth! You're just mad that Lucas didn't retro a scene where Obi poked Luke with a fork and told him his midichlorian count. :lol
