I read that Israelite wants Lord Zedd in the next one as well. If it does get done, I'd wager they change his look like they did everything else. And personally, his big rubber muscle suit wouldn't work with what they're doing now so some creative liberty is welcomed by me. Just keep the spirit of his helmet roughly the same.
As a huge fan of MMPR as a kiddo, I had kept my expectations (very) reined in but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I'll be picking up the Blu-Ray

I just saw it as well and I quite liked it. It tries to be a "movie".
What bugs me the most are the lame pop songs between scenes and the lousy third act, but overall I enjoyed it waaaay more than I should/expected.

Pretty much my thoughts on it too. It's got problems, but it wasn't a disaster. Dumb music and weak final act, but there's definitely potential in sequels in which they could refine the big battles.

I think the best thing about it is they're teenagers.. with attitude! I was invested in all of them and thought killing the black.. I mean Blue Ranger. Overall much better than crap like Bayformers.

It definitely tried. I think even with it's stumbling, they went about it the right way.
I really don't know what people expected. The same 90s cheesiness? Then it just becomes a parody.
My only real issue is the dumb rap music in places, the weird injection of the old movie theme when the Zords are running together, and the rushed final battle.

Just came out on blu ray here so bought a copy and watched it again tonight. Actually for a reboot of the original cast and as a reintroduction to the lore while adding some new additions this film is actually quite good. And I loved how Rita was such a great villain. Not playing around at all.
Has anyone heard anything about a sequel to this, or its def cancelled ? At least with this cast and storyline ?

Well, it's one really ****in' awful movie... But I didn't hate it. SURPRISE!I'm sure you'll hate it
Felt like it was produced/directed by Michael Bay's fans who thought "you know, let's reboot Power Rangers" after they saw "Chronicle" at home.

1) prehistoric aliens PR;
2) Zordon as ex RR;
3) Zordon's motivation;
4) Rita as ex GR;
5) Jason;
6) Kimberly;
7) most of zords.
Things I really didn't like:
1) Zack and Trini;
2) Rita;
3) the whole "INEEDGOLD" crap;
4) the design of them putties;
5) Goldar bein' the actual giant ****ing putty made of gold;
6) Rita usin' Goldar as her Zordl;
7) 90% of the humor;
8) Mastodon zord.

Come on...it was in the theater for a couple weeks and already on Blu
tsk tsk tsk... ye of little faith
. no worries bro, the sequel of this is gonna come out the same year as the sequel to green lantern and the sinister six movie is coming out
its going to be a big year for sequels

Well you echo my feelings on it. I'm impressed that they tried to make it a character driven story, even though I found some of the Rangers completely irritating.
I didn't mind Rita as much as I thought I was going to. I really disliked how Goldar wasn't even a speaking character and was nothing more than a skyscraper made out of goo.
