Mate, if you don't especially care, then you don't want to know. I don't care to know what the inaccuracies are, my eyes glaze over whenever Garlic and jkno spell it all out. It's great that they're fans, and I respect their knowledge and that they're discerning - but ignorance is bliss as far as I'm concerned.

I got a 1:1 helmet a few days ago, and even though I had read and seen pictures I was still shocked at how wonky and asymmetrical it was.

Personally I prefer the RO troopers over the ANH ones. Not a fan of the Velcro belt, how the detonator attaches or the gun holster. The belt will likely yellow on the fabric in a few years and the holster will likely disintegrate because of the awesome leather HT uses.

I can understand why Hot Toys would idealize the ANH troopers. They were never intended to be asymmetrical and different. If they had the tools and money back in the OT we would have gotten symmetrical identical armour for them all like RO or Force Awakens.

I just think quality wise and nostalgia aside, the RO troopers are the better made figures. Much like how RO Vader is better made than the ANH.

That perspective is understandable. On-screen the RO stormtroopers didn't bother me at all, but the figures never give off a man in suit vibe to me, not sure what the issue is.

Perhaps because they are (RO) much skinnier than the ANH versions, the torso is longer, the chest plate narrower, the smaller armor coverings on legs.... I do agree that the ANH looks more like a mannequin, ie a man in a suit, but I still like the RO though. For me, the best overall of a man in the suit is the Marmit Stromtroopers/Sandtroopers. The proportions are near perfect.

I have a vague memory of having that ignorance. Before I went down the rabbit-hole. Before the Dark Times. :lol

Yeah I started going down that hole with this thread discussion. But I'm done. The figure looks like an amazing stormtrooper to me and that's all I care about.

I don't have the eye many folks here have regarding stormtrooper accuracy but I do feel the rogue one troopers are bastardized friendly looking spawns of satan.

I've never been happy with the HT helmet, the RO isn't perfect either, but it looks more acceptable to me.

For seriously? I fell the exact opposite about the RO vs ANH HT helmets. The smooshed in lower nose section might be film accurate but looks bad in person whereas the ANH helmets look a bit more intimidating. Just In my opinion.

My figure sits below my RS lid, so I see the differences everyday.

In my opinion, RO helmet is closer to a ANH stunt, than the ANH HT helmet is from the ANH hero.

It is just they way I feel when I look at them on hand.

Oh. My. God.

The last five pages are my fault. The last five pages are my fault...
