Here is my NECA Shin Godzilla with the previously fixed head and new repaint. He goes nicely with my other Shins that all also have retooling and repaints. :)

can I please know what all the versions in this pic are

Anyone has good shots/concept art/prop shots of Mechagodzilla II pilot' uniform and helmet?
I wanna try to make Miki Saegusa 1/6 figure from the end of 1993 film.

Wow, two weeks since anyone posted here. Is anyone going to buy those two SHMonsterArts poster figures? I'm really not interested in spending that kind of money on something I don't really want, but I bet those end up being worth a mint down the road.

I'm gonna pass on those two figures. The X-Plus Sakai 91 came in today at my local comic shop, so I probably will
pick that up this evening.

I ordered the mecha G begrudgingly :lol Doubt I'll keep it.

They refuse to make any showa figures, but they make this....it boggles the mind!

I ordered the Mothra and Battra sets...missed them the first go round and I like the special color looks. Also ordered the poster ver Godzilla

I haven't posted it here, but I did some customization with my NECA Shin.

First thing I did was trim some of the skin inside his mouth. In the movie, there are overlapping fold that from like a > shape when his mouth opens, but the outer layer covered the inner layer completely the way NECA did it.

Then I did paint work, the head had too much red showing all over it, especially the lower jaw, the spines were only half black because of the airbrush process used to paint them, the tail spines were a little sloppy because of how the tail was painted, and the transition from the normal tail parts into the damage tip was a little to harsh, from black to red, so I touched that up to be more accurate.

I saw people who headed up the head in boiling water then sort if pushed in the jaw and nostril so the face wasn't as long. It looked so much better.

I did too, but there's only so much pushing you can do, it's better, but not perfect. I posted this over at Tohokingdom.

So first, here's a before and after shot of my heat modified Shin head, hard to see any difference since the lighting is so different, but before I worked on it, the mouth was pretty straight at the opening, but after I worked on it, now it has more of that curve like the movie.

This next image is to illustrate the point I've been trying to make. If you popped the head off NECA's figure and just compared it to Shin's head, it's not really too long or off in the sculpt, it seems too long and looks off because of how it's positioned in relation to the neck. The images below are the poster in profile, the original head just heat treated, then I photoshopped the head further back showing how it attaches too far forward on the neck, and finally I tilted the head, don't think the actual figure could achieve that pose, and laid an outline of the actual shin on top to show how all the pieces basically fit and that NECA really did a pretty good job on the sculpt and it's the articulation causing a lot of the "off" look of the head. I've also linked the high resolution version of the image below the smaller image posted here.

And finally, just the fully photosphopped image right next to the poster image.

Also making progress on my paint up of the Bandai Shin, finally finished all the tail segments, moving onto the body for now to work on something simpler before I start tackling all the little spine on the tail, the head is going to be the very last thing i do.
