I have an off center chevron, i contacted SS and provided a picture. they responded with a pic of "their" reference figure and said since theirs has the off center mask, they consider it normal and will not replace mine.

SS and their endless BS customer service.....

so what they are saying is, "since we also have a crooked one, then we don't consider it a problem we can correct for you."

below is the picture they sent me of the reference figure at their office.

That's where SSC is at this point. If you want to call your products high end and charge over $200 for a figure, then you should expect that collectors will be demanding and expect things like this to be resolved IMO. But they just don't do that anymore, and this has been the case for a few years now. For that reason, I don't order from them until products are in-hand and I have confidence that I will be satisfied with the final product. Crooked chevron in the middle of his mask is a no-go for me. I would prefer they just include stickers and some dull laquer if the folks working their factories can't do this right.

I remember back in the day when I water treated Qui Gon's tunic and then stupidly put his dark brown belt back on while it was still wet, causing it to stain a brown ring all around the tunic. I emailed Sideshow, told them point blank that it was my error and asked if I could purchase an extra tunic. They simply mailed me one for free, no questions asked. At one point their customer service was second to none.

I received the Hot Toys Bespin Luke with a big stain on his pants out of the package, and was told that these are individually crafted pieces of art, and each will have different flaws. I was told to deal with a leather jacket on a PF sticking to the statue by putting baby powder on it. Etc. etc.

I got the same reply. And they were willing to replace the left foot, but only if I sent the whole figure back. Lame. $244.10 on a figure I have to fix myself now.

Because somebody on the production team carelessly approved a sample with a crooked chevron, we all get to deal with it now. F'ing BS!

So I spent the day working on Jason... and I'm pretty happy with how he's turned out.

I started with Robbie's neck mod and just stuffed the neck with paper towel pieces to thicken it up. Then I removed the mask, cut off the plug and then filled in the plug and other connection points on the head with milliput. I sculpted a set of teeth onto the eye plate and painted them. then painted it. I cut out a notch of the mask and added the axe wound to his head. Finally I did a bit of repainting to blend in the new areas with the old.

I replaced the plastic studs and buckle with metal ones, fully repainted and weathered the mask. Final step was to add copious amounts of blood.

So apparently the left boot is not replaceable without sending the full figure back for replacement:lol

That's going to be a lot of full figure Returns!

You said it. About 90% of us on the boards have that foot problem. I'm not sending mine back to then get one with a crooked chevron.

Unreal. So they screw it up and basically tell you to suck it up at the price they're charging? Lets see crooked chevrons they won't do anything about, feet falling off that you have to send the whole thing back to get replaced, big head/neck gap and week right arm joints. Might be best to try and get a refund and tell them to keep their damn figure. I mean at that price you shouldn't have to fix their screw ups. Lazy QC.

It will be interesting to see if people get fixed boots, or if it's the same.

Looking at the boots, it looks like they put a notch in both the right and left ball socket. As an experiment I tried the left boot on the right leg... turns out it's too tight, the foot instantly pops off. It's actually a better fit on the left leg, but it is doing the same thing. So my earlier thought of using plumbers tape or wrapping the ball joint is probably wrong... at least in my case I'd have to shave down the ball joint on the leg a bit to get a solid fit.

Wow, for what could have been a great figure really is turning into a headache. Really embarrassing for SSC.
And we were just praising them for their Ash figure. I passed on that one of course and went with this one. I wouldn't mind having Freddy and Jack Burton but all of these issues with Jason are making me hesitate. It really sucks that they're so inconsistent and then on top of that, their CS isn't instantly saying "I'm sorry you aren't 100% satisfied with your figure, what can we do to make it right?". :/
