Rambo line died because of poor sales, and Rocky's only getting repackaging with slight repaints of existing figures.

Most of NECA's 1/4 offerings are either their huge selling lines, or licenses they can only do 1/4 scale and can't get license for 7" figures, they've even vocalized that they'd like to but other companies have those licenses.

Sadly, Rocky and Rambo aren't big money draws. If NECA didn't obtain the original here from Stallone himself, who knows if these would even be made.

Saying Rocky isn't a big money draw is a bit of a stretch. I don't think they'd be remaking all of the figures if there wasn't money to be made. Is it as big of a seller as their other figure lines? Probably not.

Well I define a big money draw as something like the Predator or Alien lines for NECA, yes if it weren't profitable at all they wouldn't be putting the Rocky re-issues out, but so far, they've yet to put out a fresh figure that would require more expense, they've offered up re-issues and now statues, the figure line seems to have gone as far as it will for now.

And Rambo had a prototype completed enough to show it on the card back to the SDCC figure and they never bothered putting it out because of poor sales.

Compared to a lot of properties, Rambo and Rocky just don't speak to collectors as much as I would like them too. I'd love a Rambo or Rocky line as extensive as the Terminator line even, which isn't as deep as Aliens and Predator but pretty well done out overall.

Rambo must be a tough license for most companies because it's just him and he doesn't have any villains that work for a line of figures....unless it's based on the cartoon.

Rocky at least has some "villains" and supporting characters.

It would be great if Neca did new Rocky II figures next instead of all these reissues. I also like to see someone do a Rocky 1976 street clothes for once in 1/6 or 1/4, I have seen a few customs but there way to expensive. You would have thought by now that Hot Toys, Sideshow, Enterbay, or Blitzway would have done this iconic look by now.

They've at least done a few new figures. The Rocky 3 Rocky with title belt and Apollo from Rocky 4. Even though about 90% is re-used parts, that's typical NECA though.

There is a ray of hope but what's up with the second new wave it like disappeared off of the shipping calendar for February and isn't even in March. I wonder what's up? Is the rights being a problem again.

I believe NECA posted a pic of Apollo a few weeks ago and said these were coming soon.

I dunno guys, I think the Lipton Tea Claymation figures are kinda cool. I'm not much of a prop guy, but I'd rather have these on display instead of the Freddy Krueger Puppet from Dream Warriors. And this is coming from a Freddy Fan. :dunno

Neca isn't Jakks, you aren't getting anything but the boxers from Neca. if you want Clubber street clothed you can get the Jakks version or the Hot Toys version on ebay.

Already have those. Want a neca version. And clubber is a boxer

I keep thinking I want to get into NECA's Rocky action figure line, except I can't figure out what I'd do with them. What does everyone else do? Display them on a shelf? Keep them in storage? Collect them compulsively? I'd like to think I'd do 'toy photoshoots' or something cool like that, except I've never done anything like that before. Most likely I'd end up with a bunch of Rocky figures stashed in my closet. :lol

They look so cool, though.

I had a few of mine in a detolf for awhile. Theyre boxed up at the moment. :(

Where in the hell is the new Rocky/Drago wave in stores? :gah:
Something went wrong clealry and neca isnt letting us know why. They posted photo of Apollo in packaging and it was coming in February but completely disapeared. Not even on the shipping calendar anymore. Strange.

You are totally right, this is crazy. They removed it from the calendar & nothing has been said on Twitter or any place else about it.
