Sorry man, I actually won the second auction (had been watching both the past couple days). I will update if it comes through or not. eBay buyer protection is still only 30 days, I believe. But PayPal covers you for 6 months.

It was you.............:gah:.....:gah: Its cool it happens. Have to be quicker I guess at bidding

My max bid won it for me by $1 so it was just flat out luck. If it makes you feel any better, I'm also risking my fiancee strangling me to death once she sees how much space this figure is going to take up. Actually, just strangling would probably be her showing mercy. We'll see if it actually comes in first, though.

:rotfl................Ok well keep us posted. If he's legit I might try to outbid you next time if he has anymore listings. Thanks

Everytime I click those eBay links, it directs me to a viglink. Not sure what's going on there

He looks legit, we'll see. My guess is that he probably listed a pre-order last year sometime and the person who won the auction eventually cancelled or asked for a refund, and then subsequently left the seller positive feedback.

You know this is how ebay scam artists work right? Confederates "win" auctions, no money or items actually change hands, and leave positive feedback to legitimize accounts. Amazon marketplace is becoming overrrun with them lately as well. There they list low, take money, provide fake tracking numbers, and bail when their accounts get banned, start again under a new name (or twenty accounts at once). Listing pre-orders on a platform that isn't designed for it just makes it that much easier. This one may or may not pan out, but these sort of cons are an industry overseas.

I mean this is where plenty of app store reviews and purchases to beef up rankings come from:

I'm not too worried, should be covered under PayPal buyer protection for 6 months. If I have to file a dispute for a refund in a few months, I'll file a dispute. That seller has also been a member since 2012. I buy and sell quite a bit on eBay so I know the risks of shady sellers/buyers, as well as the common practices for legit sellers. I don't see the usual red flags with this seller but again, could be wrong. One sign is that most fake sellers almost always list things for very, stupidly low buy it now prices, not auctions. And listing an auction with no reserve like this is quite normal. In fact, as a seller you will actually get more bids and better prices if your auction has no reserve because more people will be interested and end up bidding. Psychologically they think they have a better chance at getting a good deal. Again, just my experience.

People in Hong Kong have to pay 50% NRD at Secret Base (according to Budget Stark) to preorder so I'm not surprised when people sell on eBay for HK release prices or slightly more. They at least get their money back vs eating a huge NRD.

Gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed that this isn't on the "coming soon" list... Maybe we'll have it by the end of the year.
