I wonder if the HT will have spring loaded sections? That seem like a pain for the SS version in the video I saw.

I would agree that the lights and remote features add some value, if they included stronger batteries, which they won't, so it kinda negates that, if anything $179.99 would be a fair, if not overpriced price

It won't be out till mid 2018 so that's years after the sideshow piece..and sideshow has used the tooling multiple times so that offsets some of the cost difference. Then you have diecast which cost more because people believe it's worth more. Then the sound effects. The batteries are pretty irrelevant as you can buy them pretty cheap yourself. It's not like if they added the top line battery people would be ok paying 15-20 bucks more. Or anymore really. So they are not a factor really. At this point it's hard to tell what the quality difference are, but for every figure ssc makes it gets lambasted for being to cheap or QC so I'd much rather get a really well made hot toys figure that has more functions and better paint for 75 extra bucks then the cheaper lower quality.
And for me th touch light up function is a big deal, especially going forward with other products (hulkbuster maybe or other iron man figures)

The only part of your argument I find has any weight to it is the diecast part, but you're talking about a very small figure which will mean even less than an Iron Man figure, I don't think it warrants the price hike. They did the same thing with Yoda, two heads or not, new body or not, he's not worth what they a charging for him

Well said, and I agree. It's laughable that they think its ok to charge so much for such a tiny figure. 160 max I would think for something like this. I personally don't care about the diecast or the electronics with a remote. It's going to end being a static figure sitting inside a display case so all of that stuff is not necessary.Don't see how you can defend the price

I agree. The SS R2-D2 is only $149.99. So the Hot Toys one should go for $170-$185. I bet the Hot Toys R2 will sit around for a while and eventually get discounted.

I'm just waiting on my Night King custom, piecing together some CW figures and waiting on Falcon

I was eager to order Deadpool but decided to wait. The Mask should be heading my way in a week or two. The next 2 are the Asylum Joker & Tux Joker but those are for March and April. Gives me time to recover from impulse buying that Batman Armory set.
I'll pick a Lego Batman Set or 2 if have some cash to burn.

Deadpool is a figure worth getting if you can, he's unique and has a lot of value

You know I ended up cancelling my Asylum Joker? I just didn't think he was worth having, the sculpt looks a little dull to me, I don't like the stare. How are you liking the Armory set? I always wanted that Have you seen the movie yet? Or is it even out yet? I'm waiting for John Wick 2
