Wow, great photo TonTon!
Thanks, guys. Like Carrie, this head sculpt is very photogenic. How did you get the wired hood to drape so nicely on the head? Looks like it has the effect of gravity pulling it downward.
Do you have a wider shot of the figure, just curious how the hood looks from a different angle.
Took a lot of pinching in certain spots and pressing the wire/shaping it along her hair and buns to get it looking realistic. I took a few photos when I had it draped like this, but only from the front. From my recollection it looked like crap from the side. I've since tried to do the hood up look again and it didn't come as easily so I gave up (seemed like kinks in the wire made it more difficult). Here's another probably from around the same time:

Put her back in a elegant neutral pose for now. Note the trigger finger remains for a quick change to action.

I'd love HT to make this version. They could get around any movie licensing issues by saying its from Battlefront like they did with the Snowtrooper.

Does anyone even care? All the HK sellers have high prices if a figure sells out.
This is only business. Timcent didn't kill Carrie Fisher. As a lot of people here are pointing out, Leia was on sale for a long time, and only just sold out.
This is in no way any different from when a figure just comes out(And hence is rare), and the HK sellers charge more for the latest one, or if a figure is sold out everywhere and will not have any more runs made.
For anyone who has one already, i don't get why you guys are so worried about the price hike.

just ignore them. If you feel strongly enough, never buy from those sellers again.

I care because I missed out on the chance to get her when she was a decent price and now I can only find her for ridiculous prices. Hard to ignore when everyone on eBay is doing it.

How'd you miss out to get her for retail? The figure had been available for 8-9 months and stock was plentiful. What changed to where you suddenly just have to have her now?

I always put off buying her because of how naff the dress looks. Now that Carrie has passed, I (and quite a few people) really want her figure to remember her by. I didn't know her on a personal level but her death has really affected me.
It's because people are dumb & greedy. They must think that because she passed away her figures will skyrocket and they can't make any more versions....
.... Guess they don't realize Lucas owned her likeness as now does Disney. They don't need anyone's permission or consent to ever use any of the OT & PQ actors likenesses. Not sure if it's any different for the new Disney stuff (TFA & RO), but doubt it. I'm sure Disney gave all the new actors the same deal Lucas did. "We own your @ss!!!!"

I personally think scalpers solely attempting to profit greatly off of her death is despicable. However, I think putting total blame on them for why you now can't acquire a figure, is a little unfair. Granted nobody knew she was going to pass, but you did have 8-9 months to easily snare her. You apparently during that time though had limited interest in it (along with many other people), not enough to really care to get it. Now that she's passed, people's interest in the figure has suddenly skyrocketed (along with the price) and they just have to have one when it was sort of "meh" to them before.
In my opinion, you should still be able to get one for retail (as mentioned, I think it's despicable that people are trying to profit off of her death), but at the same time, you should have gotten one when you had the chance. Like you said, many, many people (including yourself) now suddenly want the figure after she's unfortunately passed, so since demand is high, price is high.

Demand and supply- simple economics. I say wait if you can- HT will likely do another run- and then the inevidible numerous "tribute" Leias coming from everyone...

We're gonna see so many Leia's. They still need to make Hoth, Bespin, Slave bikini (hopefully comes out at some point), Boushh, Endor, Ceremony, General from Episode 7/8. If they don't make anymore of the ANH version then it will stay up in value now that they're sold out and it's the first Leia they made. But it wouldn't surprise me if they quietly made another run.
